Pointing out that another drug is more harmful is the refuge of the weak minded. Marijuana is harmful. I agree people should be free to use whatever drug they want, personal choice, their body. But defending your unhealthy destructive choice by pointing out that another drug is more harmful is just dumb. But, you also don’t need to justify your choices, and please don’t. You want to spend your life high, go for it. But just spare us the idiotic rationalizations for your choice to do so.

Freedom is better than locking people up in jail, destroying their lives because they smoked weed. I guess the obvious Best Case Scenario is a society free from all forms of drug use, no alcohol, no weed, no anything.. but since that doesn't exist anywhere on the planet, the next best option is to allow people to make decisions for themselves.

When it comes down to it, the drug legalization argument really amounts to “I want to explore my mind and feel, however I want.” I listened to a debate the other day between a pro legalization doctor, and an anti-legalization advocate. The pro drug guy was a doctor, and in the end, his only point was “people have the right to explore their mind.” Incredibly childish. As if all the destruction wrought by addictive drugs are nothing compared to your “right” to explore your mind.
