Since marijuana has been legalized in my city, there is a dramatic increase in people driving 10 mph under the speed limit.
I smoke once a week. And by smoke I mean a puff. Doesn't seem addictive to me. I could take it or leave it.
People use it more because it’s legal in many states does not mean it’s addicting. Somehow, science would have figured that out before if it was. They figured out heroin was addicting despite being illegal.
Daily milk drinkers blow both out of the water. It’s the end of America, I’m telling you.
. It’s literally killing part of your life by zoning you out for that period. Which is all phucking day...do the math.

the paranoia makes them think they’ll lose control if they go any faster, but the reality is that their reflexes are abnormally retarded to the point that they can’t drive like a sober human.
Yet they’ll think that “it doesn’t affect me bro”

That's correct. Like the "criminal justice" arguments, "medical marijuana" is largely a sham. There have even been an FDA-approved TCH pills or equivalents for 20+ years, and the use case (vomiting among chemo patients or whatever) is dubious. So-called medical marijuana was just an excuse to legalize and fully commercialize recreational weed.
the "FDA-approved THC pills" are nothing of the sort. There are some medications with marijuana derivatives, but there is no THC in them. You're talking out of your ass.
Not addictive. I use it all the time and am sure I can stop anytime I want.

I do not trust “science.” That is too vague. I might trust specific research institutions. But “science” is fully capable of ignoring a truth. Marijuana legalization was a cause de jure, legalization was an issue of “racial justice” and “civil rights.” Scientists are as political as anyone, and in such an atmosphere they might decide to ignore certain questions, like rather widespread daily marijuana use is a public health problem.
And yes marijuana can be addictive. There is a name for it: cannabis use disorder. All of this was readily discoverable during the decades of advocacy for legalization. But somehow, no one figured it out.
Even though I have a medical card and have for about 5 years, and recreational use is legal as well, I'm trying to post anonymously.
I tried TCH via edibles for the first time in my 40s, which was 2019. The first time was about 15mg gummy, and the high was so vivid it was hallucinatory. It was an amazing experience actually. So I started doing gummies on the weekends.
But here's the thing, gummies for me take 2 to 3 hours to hit, and the effect stays for hours. The more you do them, the higher your resistance goes. Go forward a couple years to spring 2023, I was a daily edible user and standard was 80mg. Expensive. Too long in the hole. You do actually wake up with THC hangover. Edibles caused me to clench my teeth at night, so I always woke up with sore jaws and headache along the back of my head.
In summer of 2023 I switched to vaping THC instead. Only the ones that don't smell like a skunk. The effect is completely different. On set is minutes, the effects are much quicker to wear off. I could get "as high as I want' at night and not wake up with a head ache.
That said, resistance is a thing. If you're a user, you'll know a 510 cart. A 1g cart at 71% THC lasts 4 days for me. I don't exactly wake and bake, but by lunch time I'll take a couple hits. There is a balance act. It makes me focus if it's one or two hits.
You do more, then you're doing nothing but zoning out. I work at home, no commute. If I go out, I don't take the THC as it is an intoxicant and I'm not looking for a DUI.
I don't think it's a good idea for younger people to do what I do. I wouldn't have been able to handle it when I was younger. Not mature or experienced enough. I started once I already had a stable 20+ year career and a nice house.

Sounds like a terrible way to go through life. You may as well be addicted to cigarettes or something worse. It's really sad to see normal people fall down this hole and end up jonesing for some substance during every waking hour. I hope you can quit and reclaim your life.

You’re wrong about that. I have a dear friend who is a nurse in an Intensive Care Unit. She tells me it is not uncommon for people who have only a few drinks a day to suffer some form of withdrawal when they come into the hospital for a procedure. They feel terrible and can’t understand why. The nurse will ask a few questions and discover that they have 3-4 drinks a day.

Thank you for telling your story. I hope you were able to quit and things work out well for you. God bless.

Maybe it's addicting, but the medical stuff is controlled, and I don't think it's bad for people.
Like, in the UK, they have medical cannabis clinics, like Curaleaf. They control the dosage and consult you all the way. I think that's what every country should have.
Here's the link to their reviews, if someone's interested:
How many people who line up at Curaleaf have a legit medical problem that only marijuana can alleviate? How many just want to get high, and got the appropriate boxes checked for some medical condition or other?

Actual heroin was legal when they figured out it was addictive. Heroin was actually invented by scientists in 1874 seeking to isolate the pain killer in opium for medical purposes. They figured it was other substances in opium that made it dangerous. Bayer introduced it for medical purposes in 1898. It wasn’t made illegal until 1924. Heroin is to opium what vaping is to tobacco. Wrought in the idea that if you remove all the inert substances and isolate the active ingredient, it makes something safe. All it does is make it more addictive. If you want to know why weed today seems to be more addictive than weed from the sixties, it’s because they grow higher potency strains in the hopes of making their clients addicted.

Sis, despite the fact that alcohol users far out number marijuana users overall. Yet somehow alcohol users are better able to moderate there intake than marijuana users.
Of course it’s too late now. Marijuana users are able to get baked every day, if they want, without “getting hassled by The Man.” That was really the entire purpose of the legalization movement - getting really high without legal consequences- despite a lot of noble sounding language about human liberty and medical uses.
The biggest lie/myth that was doing the rounds when I was younger is that marijuana is a harmless drug. The amount of people I know who grew up believing that and who suffered/suffer from psychosis is scary. People pushing the legalization agenda comparing it to alcohol/smoking should be stopped from doing so. It's very different and far more destructive.
