Latest terrorist attack caused cell phones and computers to blow up. Now every passenger on every flight is carrying at least one bomb. Will the TSA prove that they’re only there for show or will cell phones and laptops be banned on all flights?
The TSA has done a pretty amazing job of moving billions of people through airports while preventing any more Islamic terrorist attacks like the ones we witnessed on September 11, 2001. Those killed thousands of Americans.
I doubt anything that happened in Lebanon yesterday (or before that) will cause the TSA to ban cell phones and laptops on flights. But you should use the personal caution you think is required and not go on any flights until the threats you perceive are eliminated. You weren't going anywhere anyway, were you?
What the OP should be concerned about is if once this war is over, Mossad turn their attentions to the far left Hamas cheerleaders and cosplayers in the West. And remember, Mossad never forgets.
This is 100% misinformation. No cell phones blew up. No computers blew up.
They were able to get one specific model of pager to blow up and one specific brand/model of one specific brand/model of walkie-talkie to blow up. This was a long involved plan that involved the specific pagers and walkie-talkies that were imported and distributed. They can not even blow up all pagers or all walkie-talkies, let alone random cell phones or computers.
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this scare-mongering but this thread should be deleted. The OP is spreading 100% false information.
Lololololol. It's been well-documented that TSA doesn't do sh*t.
In 2015, "Internal investigation of the Transportation Security Administration revealed security failures at dozens of the nation's busiest airports, where undercover investigators were able to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials.... Two years later, a Red Team test at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport achieved the same 95 percent failure rate to detect explosives, weapons, and illegal drugs. Repeat national tests in 2017 also went badly, "in the ballpark" of an 80 percent failure rate.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg of abject failure represented by the TSA. The agency repeatedly has been called out for spending vast amounts of money on unproven toys and techniques and then failing to assess their effectiveness—or just leaving them to gather dust. "TSA is wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars by inefficiently deploying screening equipment and technology to commercial airports," a report compiled by staff of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure found in 2012. Among other things, of 472 carry-on baggage screening machines purchased for deployment at airports, 99 percent had been stuck in storage for more than nine months. Some equipment remained warehoused for the majority of its usable lifespan."

In all seriousness, I know that most distance runners have lower T levels than the average population, but FFS, I do recall Islamic terrorists blowing up innocent marathon goers at Boston a few years back. They were so evil, they targetted hobby joggers as they approached the finish line, just about to feel the elation of perhaps their life's ambition realized, instead having their legs blown off.
Yet so many posters here accusing Israel of terrorism, for targetting thousands of Hezbollah Islamist terrorists, as though there's no difference to the likes of the Boston bombings. And the mods allow it too. Recall also that Hezbollah blew up hundreds of US soldiers in Lebanon several decades ago.

Don’t cops use radios where you live? Am I supposed to believe that every person living in Lebanon who happens to have a communication device with a lithium battery is a terrorist? FFS is right.
Also, weren’t the Boston marathon bombers Kyrgyzstani? No chance they were just some f-ed up kids that chose pressure cookers and a marathon rather than a gun and a primary school?

And yet we've had tens of millions of flights in the US since 9/11 and you guys have not been able to bring down a single plane.
You can literally always find some errors or economic waste with any organization of any size and any endeavor. That universal fact has kept you cheap cynics and conspiracy theorists in message board business since the day message boards were invented. You will always have some occurrence to perpetually point to and exaggerate and get hysterical about.
Keep on being you. Just remember to quietly count your blessings that you live in a country that has an agency tasked with nationwide air transportation safety in a dangerous world with many Islamic enemies. We'd be fvcked without the TSA. We'd have to stay home in fear for the rest of our lives like the OP is going to do.

Yep. I fly all the time with weed and smoking apparatus in my carry-on and have never been stopped.

No chance they were being run by the intelligence agencies?

Good for you, hophead. I encourage you to keep doing that. They'll never catch you. They never catch anyone with drugs in their carry on.
Why are liberals so triggered that some terrorists got what they deserved(at least partially)? And why the f do they defend them?
Israel committed yet another terrorist act.
Why aren't they called terrorists?

Why are the only options banning all lithium ion batteries or the TSA only being for show? Life is full of nuance and you raise an interesting point, why go all conspiracy theorist?
