supposedly, Ritz has a stress fracture...if so, then ~six weeks of no running.

on dyestat, someone posted that dathan's done for the season with a stress fracture
I am officially on strike. You will not see another post from me until Ritz has raced. Who's coming with me!?

I understand your point; however, its not often when
a underclassmen comes along in distance running and is
capable of making a World or Olympic team. In that
circumstance I feel that the team of OUR COUNTRY comes
before a university! The use them up syndrome is old and
not all coaches should do so. I know there are coaches
who don't (the one I can name is John Smith of UCLA) and
other should follow suit in World and Olympic years. In
1988 John allowed Danny Everett, Kevin Young, and Steve to
race sparingly, thus Olympic Champions were attained. The
coach at USC did the same for Quincy Watts, why not for TALENTED distance runners?

Ha, \\\'God\\\'. It\\\'s dying man, it\\\'s been dying for centuries and it\\\'ll take centuries more...but it\\\'s still dying.
The Zeigle twins are Christians, which makes them different from Mormons in that they believe salvation by grace through faith as revealed in the Bible, not a works scenario which most "decent" and "religious" people adhere to. As for the Zeigles not being good I wonder if the poster has run a 16:29 5K and qualified for Junior World's?
As far as Ritz goes, if he's planning on racing in October, the injury must not be too bad. He's in good hands with Wetmore, athiest or not. (I just had to throw that in.) As far as racing for your country and not your school, I don't see how training for cross-country diminishes the capacity for World's. I believe CU has had excellent representation there, Mark's smart, and I'm out.
Unfortunately, the stress fracture story is true. I don't have the link, but the Daily Camera has a story by Sandrock confirming the injury and that Ritz will redshirt this fall. Good luck to him on his comeback.
Beat you to it, beat you to it!
CU has the best top 3 in the country???????
What about Arkansas with:
Cragg (13:22), third in XC in '01
Lincoln (13:36, 8:22) beat Ritz in outdoors
Kimeli (13:53) 13th in '01
Throw in Jason Sandfort at #4 and they are still holding their own against CU with Ritz.
Give credit where credit is due. The Hogs will roll this season.
