We changed the title of the thread to make it more factual and descriptive. It was initially entitled, "I guess Brosnan did actually do it," but the release says the former coach (Brosnan) is still disputing the allegations.
Even better coaches with less coaching experience then Brosnan when starting pro groups:
( Brosnan literally has HS faster then lots of the athletes in these groups )
Alistair Cragg
Danny Mackey
Grant Fisher’s coach ( I didn’t want to google his name )
Pete Ray
Joe Bosshard
Dathan Ritzenhein
Naz Elite coach ( he was a assistant at Portland )
Hansons
Ben Rosario
I’ll stop here. Just because
You forgot something very important - all of those coaches had pro athletes that wanted to work with them, or shoe companies that wanted to invest in them. Brosnan has NEITHER.
Qualifications don't matter if you are a slimeball and nobody wants to be associated with you (like Brosnan).
For the record, the pro running experience of people like Cragg and Ritz make them far more qualified to coach pro runners than Brosnan.

Mackey was a pro , Coach Ray was a Pro ? Joe was a Pro ? Ben was a Pro ? Hansons pros ?
Dalia Frias of Mira Costa in Manhattan Beach, CA was in the top 3 High School runn ers a couple of years ago. She made a massive mistake going to Duke. Seems like Sean recruited her to transfer to UCLA. Dalia announced it on her Instagram. UCLA like 30 minutes from MB with no traffic. 1 day later, bizarre post that she decided to transfer to Oregon instead. She gave up 2 prestigious colleges UCLA and Duke for joke academic college Oregon with an 80% acceptance rate. Dalia has vanished now. Don't know if Stanford or NC State recruited her, but one of the biggest high school to college fails ever!

If people only knew what group and who Brosnan is coaching after this pro season. The haters would die.
I wish Brosnan was more active on his Instagram because so haters would see what’s happening and simmer down.
The hint I’ll give you is Brosnan is not talking a NCAA job and his deal has been signed and done. I can only think it will be announced by the fall after the DL finals. Brosnan is not at all those pro races for no reason. He’s literally flying around the world for good reason.

does the model look like in the base phase, while building up to the threshold? I was reading this thread about K. Ingebrigtsen's training, , 3Q + a long run seems to be a bit much at lower mileage (40mpw). Is it needed? Would another easy run work instad? How should the model be adjusted for that mileage?
He just signed his Uber contract and was lucky enough to drive some pros to the trials. That's as close as he will ever get to a professional runner. The guy is completely done. No high school will touch him.
Do we have any examples of successful high school coaches doing well with a pro group (not just a few individuals)?
The idea that you have to had coached pros before to be a good pro coach is laughable to me. Physiology doesn't change just because someone is running 13:00 for 5000 vs 15:00 flat. The training is the same.
Mike Scannell.
Ans Botha.
Who the hell had Gjert coached before he guided his sons to European titles galore?

I could go on and on.
I understand what you are trying to say but be careful when you say "The training is the same." between HS and Pro.

You're crazy. Dalia Frias was at UCLA for much longer than one day. Why would you even bother to post something that even you know is completely wrong?
And the only reason she left UCLA for Oregon was because UCLA let Sean Brosnan go.
And the only reason she hasn't been running recently is because she had a serious injury and she is still recovering.
Next time you post make sure you get your facts right.

I hope his books sells well because Brosnan will never coach again--too proud to go back to HS and no chance at college or pro level.
You are joking right? Jim Harbaugh committed major NCAA violations at Michigan - he currently has a 4 year show-cause penalty - and he just got hired to coach the San Diego Chargers to the tune of $80 million dollars over 5 years. If you can coach, and the administrators want to win, they will over look things like this (if true) all the time in major sports.
If I was adidas, I'd think seriously about hiring him to be their Flagstaff based coach and he can reunite with Nico.
apples to oranges... I am sure you are aware... football (and good football coaches) produce revenue. track & xc, not so much. as far as ADs are concerned distance coaches should not be causing problems for the department and definitely not violating NCAA rules.
you of all people, since you were a D1 coach, should be aware of that.
There are hundreds of coaches out there who are good enough to have a pro team... not just someone who is a self promoter.
