Pretty hilarious to see the Hocker haters coping in this thread.
Personality-wise, Hocker is introverted and a bit quieter than your typical superstar, but he's a good interview (not as good as Jakob though). He actually gives thoughtful and insightful answers, whereas Kerr usually just has stock lines that often don't relate directly to the question asked.
More importantly... every race Hocker is in is exciting. Before winning Olympic gold this was only true at the collegiate / national level because Hocker wasn't good enough to make races at the global level. But now it might also be true at the global level going forward, which is great.
Greatness from athletes on the court/field/track is enough for them to be wildly popular (see Tiger Woods–incredibly entertaining on the course, but has always been a brutal interview throughout his career.)
