French athlete - Zarbo (?)
Damn Pechardo was .05 short of winning on his last jump
So the entire top 3 were born in Cuba but none of them represent them?
F U american readers!!! Battoclettinis the real deal!
Think you've been spoilt by the 'to the gills' performances of a lot of the American men this year.
Hocker and Rooks beg to differ.
US dominate every event - God, we've improved so much
One European gets a silver - WHAT??? GET EM WADA
1,2,3 for glorious Cuba!
It would be nice if the camera showed everyone’s finish instead of just the medalist. No one needs to see them laying on the ground, when we are trying to see the times people run like Parker Valby. No idea what she ran
Don’t know why Hassan leaves herself so much work to do on the final lap. Why not move up sooner?

Why does Hassan insist on handicapping herself? Get on the shoulder in time and she has a chance.
Like the 5k, she only went for bronze.
Think she's aiming for three medals and wants keep a bit in the tank.
Irony is, running all out last 100m in her track races wouldn't have made too much difference to her marathon chances.
Their going to do it in the sandpit :)
A clean sweep by former Cubans in the triple jump

Parker still hasn't finished. Prolly another ten minutes or so. They'll cut back to her.
If, IF, that was Battocletti's only race and she had run that 10K and at the end of it collapsed and needed CPR then maybe, MAYBE, I'd allow 1% of my being to entertain she was clean, BUT, she has two 5k's in her and that 10k and she out kicks some of the best distance runners in the world twice AND she crosses the line and saunters around the track waving to the crowd. It's OFFENSIVE how blatant and egregious what I'm seeing is.

I think it's a nice story. They leave because of poor facilities and resources. Since it's their job, they're leaving for a better life like any number of people moving from one country moving to another. And, some are winning medals for their new country. The Polish volleyball guy originally from Cuba is another example, and the Cuban VB player for the Turkey women's team.

Americans 8, 9, 11. Sigh. Pretty typical performance by USA.
I think Valby had a very respectable race. She ran about as well as anyone could expect off of the insane last year she had in the NCAA. Some rest and then some time training as a pro and she will be up there next time. She got her feet wet and that is good enough this year.
How do you score breakdancing? The whole thing grew out of a way to be creative and express yourself, which turned into a way of showing up and dissing others in a 'battle' (which started a lot of fights). But how do you score this? How do you put numbers on this? I don't get it
2/3 for Sifan Hassan. What a legend. Everyone is competing in individual events, she is doing the distance triathlon.
WHY ARE THE ANNOUNCERS SAYING BAKKOLETTI, ITS BATOCLETTI AS IN BAT-OH-CLET-TEA
