He is totally a libertarian except of you happen to be a woman. Then no go on bodily autonomy. The govt will make that decision. Thank you.
"Bodily autonomy" - typical obfuscation for slaughtering an innocent human being, and sometimes torturously. Does anyone on Earth have unlimited bodily autonomy? I doubt that even Putin or Kim Jung Un have it. Here in the US, we ordinarily cannot take cocaine, take heroin, or drive along a quiet residential street at 125 mph. Why? Because these behaviors are dangerous to those who commit them and often to others. With direct abortion, the danger to another is intended and intended to be fatal.
In a famous passage in “On Liberty,” Mill writes that the “only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others.” - See more at:
I am reminded of these words by a US President, though one noted for his failures to live up to his convictions: "The care of human life and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only legitimate object of good government." --Thomas Jefferson to Maryland Republicans, 1809. ME 16:359
I thought I’d share this example seeing as Thanksgiving is around the corner. I can’t tell if you were joking when you said the land was empty and didn’t have people in it.
Libertarianism of all stripes has the fundamental belief that one should be free to harm oneself, or do with one’s body as one pleases. Restrictions on drugs and other forms of “dangerous to oneself” are seen as an impediment to that freedom.
Mill was not a libertarian.

What capitalist libertarians quickly realize is that capitalism is both inherently exploitative (surpluses to be accumulated must come from taking from someone else), and also state dependent. The capitalist libertarian is the very definition of a free rider, just 🙈🙉🤐 about their dependency on others while screaming about other people’s claims on the collective.
See how much Tesla and SpaceX have benefited from state support and public resources for example.

Capitalism most certainly isn't. As an economic system, capitalism really just encompasses practices inherent to how humans operate left to their own devices. If we lived in some prehistoric society and I was great at fashioning leather products and another guy, let's use an LRC poster, Jamin, was a great fisherman, we'd focus our resources on our respective trades and likely trade freely (free trade) amongst ourselves and others to engage in commerce. There nothing exploitative about capitalism, no more so than any other aspect of human existence... Yes, there's bad actors and things get unbalanced, but it's better to than letting people spouting nonsense about a utopian system get their hands on the levers of power.
Using the previous prehistoric example, we'd all be very suspicious of a guy like you, likely the lecherous village drunk/degenerate stumbling into the communal square in a jealous rage at the other people engaging in commerce talking about how "unfair" it is. But nowadays, you can hide behind your online handle and abuse your also supposedly "exploitative" role in this society to speak out against a system which houses, feeds, and clothes you while you slough off in whatever it is you claim to do in your day job. Sad.

If the "taking" is mutually voluntary, that should not be a problem, and it is NOT "inherently exploitative."

Regardless of Mill's classification, he was enormously influential on the Founding of the USA, and many claims to so-called "bodily autonomy" are quite contrary to what Mill found acceptable.
Right-wing nutbag cheesedicks like Kobbs only are interested in people whose goal is to own the opposition. They're children who vote for children.
Imagine being proud of Boebert or Gaetz or Trump. Could never be me, or anyone with an IQ above 70.
Always with the ad hominem, because you are wrecked by reason, logic, and facts.
Melei is an economist by training and profession. Argentinians are sick to death of horribly destructive inflation and are finally ready to try a new path. Leftists are terrified not because Melei might fail, but because they know deep down he will succeed.
+1 great analysis. Good for them. Having the courage to try something new.

My best friend “escaped” from a communist system in the early 1980’s. He has told of a quote within the country that goes like this…
”if you’re not stealing from the government, then you’re stealing from your family.”
The prior poster’s who criticized my earlier post, especially by using Scandanavian ‘socialism’ as some sort of successful examples, are too clueless to respond to. But, I’ll leave them with this bit of unfortunate information for them… those countries have LOWER corporate tax rates than the US. Also, those countries were largely homogenous until recent decades. Ask Swedish natives how their experiments in diversity are working out for them.

I was wondering how long it was going to take until the Scandinavian happylands were credited not to socialist policies but to the absence of Black and brown people.
Be honest. There's a reason why Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia had very low crime. The reason is very similar as to why New Zealand, Hong Kong, etc are the same.
Yes, public mechanisms that ensured few were desperate enough to turn to crime, or that the incidence of antisocial tendencies is managed. The fundamental question is do people feel secure or not.

This is Letsrun. That cowardly prejudice was an inevitability.

It's amazing that it really only takes about 20-30 posts before the pathetic right-wing losers on this site basically out themselves as the racist scum they are.

The Democrat Party has not even for one second ceased to be racist.
