Yeah, I don't think anyone is going to beat Dennis Kipngetich from Oklahoma State. Sure, Dennis only finished 3rd at the Kenya Nationals XC championship back in January, but that was tougher competition than he will face on Saturday.

literally 0% chance Nico Young wins. Sure he's good, but what have you seen from him over his college career that shows he can win a national caliber race?

Here's a fun fact: Nico Young has run 3 NCAA XC champs, and only one person who's running in this year's race has beaten him at Natty's.

Haftu Strinzos of Villanova beat him by 0,2 seconds in 2021. (And Casey Clinger beat him by 2.0 seconds. He's still in the NCAA but is presumably not running on Saturday).

Young is the top returner from "2020" and 2022.

I think Nico will win similar to Galen. He got 2nd as a junior and he will win with a kick in the last 400 and break whoever it ends up being!!

Nico has consistently been poised to be the next man up for a title throughout college. But he has never been able to pull through when it counts. He's probably second on saturday per usual. Someone else is going to have that extra bit that is the difference between winning and not. He's lost head to head to Blanks and Samuel. Young didn't look like he was holding back at regionals.

Its a tight field, I think if you run this race 5 times, 5 different guys win, but Nico is 2nd everytime.

Still feel like we'll get a Young/Bosley barnburner, but this year I don't think people will be mistaken and think they'll fall back near the end; people will go with them this time. Remains to be seen who goes with them, but the pace will be hot.

NAU is all about team titles. Smith uses his runners to maximize team points, often at the cost of individual success. that's what he coaches, what he teaches, what he says on recruiting trips. team first. case in point. of their 6 titles, they have zero individual champions.

while I'd love to see Nico get the win and am rooting for him, if they win the team title it'll be 4 straight for Nico, a much more impressive accomplishment than one individual win.

If I were an oddsmaker, I think 5/2 is probably the lowest odds I’d give anyone on the guys side. There are a half dozen established talents and at least another half dozen unproven guys with massive upside. Should be a great race to watch.
