Getting ninth as a team with everyone racing and the Young twins as your 2 and 4? Pathetic performance from a perennial national contender going into this year. Ky Robinson ran well at least

Just like Bolles HS in FL.
I remember when Bolles returned to ground zero when they graduated Charles Hicks.

The Youngs are apparently still over compensating for going out too fast at last year's NXN and dying.
Today they went out too slow but finished really well. In the last 2k Leo moved up 31 places and Lex moved up 34 places.
I think Stanford just had an off day and will do better as the season progresses.
Why hasn’t Nico raced in so long?
ITS ONLY SEPTEMBER
You “fans” on here are so stupid sometimes. Every year we go through this with some team that ends up on the podium, shows up when it matters. A lot of you don’t know what it’s like to train for a 10k in the day and age of NCAA XC.
20 years ago you could run a bad race and still be all American if you were good enough. Today, you don’t crack the top 100.
For the high schoolers- boi you’re in for a treat when you end up running 26/27 minutes even though you’re breaking 15 now. Happens all the time.
For the “old-timers” that praise running all the time. Your era sucked for American distance running, and had no international competition as compared to today, just only had a few individuals. “Oh but so and so ran more often and still won a medal”. Yeah, and their PR was like 27:30 in the 10k, that’s not even worthy of an agent nowadays if you aren’t under 24 years old.
The Youngs just need to learn race tactics. They both closed well the last K and passed a ton of people. Both passed over 30 people on the last 2K. if they learn to position themselves better they’ll do better.
Still both Youngs contributed to team scoring (even tho the scores weren’t great). A freshman being 46 and the second scorer raises concerns.
Sprout ended awful. Lost so many positions in that time.
it’s still early so I’m not counting them out,, still time for improvement by nuttycombe (I doubt the top guys run the next race on the 29th)
I'm sure you would do better
They ain't that good.
After Robinson , Sprout is always a wildcard. The Youngs will be fine, but the others have shown NOTHING on the college level. High school yes, college...No.
damn bro im sure you would be sooo much better. you dont know these guys or anything about them.
What makes you guys think the young’s weren’t instructed to start slow?
Are you saying that we should be worried about NAU and BYU for doing so well?
The team is overcompensating for frying their legs prior to nationals every year. Cole Sprout is probably out of shape after taking time off for injury (my guess only). The Youngs could start easy in their first college 8k where the stakes were low and they could get excited about what they can do when they go out harder at Pre-Nats. The other guys don't need to be running 22s and low 23s like they did at one meet last year. They just need to be in 28-29 minute shape at nationals, and I assume that they will be, 1-7.
Lex Leo not even the fastest freshman. Colin Sahlman? Barely there.
Newbury Park is done
This is the placing of the 5th man for each time at VA. Syracuse is in there

Just make Brosnan look like a better coach.
The truth being Colin had a great Freshman track season running 3:38 and 1:46 and going to NCAA's and Lex and Leo just started college. I don't think they went to class yet.

Forget about Lex, Leo, and Colin. Once again, Aaron Sahlman will win nationals!

Uh, how many men and women did we get on the podiums in world XC in the old days and how many have we gotten recently? This message brought to you by an okay boomer.
Stanford has no seniors on the men’s side. How will they do next year?
