I was just sent this in an email through my college's investment club. How are these programs legal? They discriminate based on up to 3 protected categories, including race, gender, and sexuality.

Notice it says “but not limited to” which means they can select whoever they want and it technically could be a white male. However, we all know how these things work. If it comes down to a few candidates in a final round, the white guy doesn’t stand a chance

In general, to work in finance for a company like Blackstone you have to have no soul. Diversity candidates are attractive to these types of companies because diversity candidates have been repeatedly told that the world is against them. By appearing to be for these types of candidates, companies like Blackstone are able to manipulate them into doing whatever ethically questionably need to be done to pad Blackstone's bottom line.
