Hi LetsRun - there was a sale and so I picked up some Kinvara 13s. My previous trainers had been the Hoka Cliftons. Many pairs of the 7s and 8s and most recently a pair of 9s.
Ever since switching to the Kinvara my legs feel extra sore. Just been doing easy runs so no fatigue from workouts.
Main running is on a paved bike trail. Just to give additional information.
Is this to be expected? I saw the drop difference was only 5mm -> 4mm so I assumed I wouldn’t feel to much of a difference
The Cliftons are highly cushioned running shoe. The Kinvara are more of a medium cushioned shoe. Your legs may be experiencing more impact with the change in shoe model. Your legs may adapt after a few weeks. If not, you may want to go back to the Cliftons or similar shoe.

Thank you for that insight! It's been about 2 weeks, will give it another week or so.
Hokas to Kinvaras and you run on pavement? Surprise level: 0
I've worn Kinvara for road 5k races. Fine for that, I couldn't wear them everyday though.

Everyone is different. I've worn Kinvara 6 for a marathon.
One could definitely use them as a daily trainer.
Then don’t wear the kinvaras
