Well, this gives you an outlet for bragging, there’s that! Good luck with your “science” experiment. 😔🤔
It’s more scientific than projecting what impact the qualifying standards will have on the cutoff. I think most are underestimating how big it will be. If we could get a decent sample size and see what cutting the bottom 25% of the qualifiers looks like.
I’m not bragging about my time, I’m almost embarrassed to list it, especially on this board. It was not a good race for me for many reasons, including a 3 minute bathroom break. I plan to run much faster in my December marathon.
even though I enjoy the trip and the race atmosphere, I just like to run it now in years when there’s a special reason for doing so.
And yeah, I’m fully aware that I’m nobody’s hero, but because I remember being excited about my first, when I get a like bit wistful about not running, I just get happy thinking about someone barely making the cut and running their first (if I’m under, as I expect to be). Hoping to be back to 15-20 under in my fall race. We’ll see.
7:30 for me. 36 (2:57:30). Had I known it could possibly be unsafe I would’ve run more aggressively. Rainy qualifying race but was probably in 2:55-6 shape running more even and a couple mins faster without the rain. What can you do though…if 7:30 doesn’t get in, it’ll be just another tough one. I already missed my real first one due to COVID.
