ICYMI: Las Vegas teens stole a car, purposely hit another vehicle, then plowed into a man on a bicycle, killing him. The man they killed was a retired police chief. A local news outlet described it as a bike crash. WTH?
It was not a "bike crash" at all. It was a premeditated murder of an innocent man named Andreas Probst age 64. Luckily, the 17 year old driver was arrested that day and is being held. Hopefully the suspect will be tried as an adult and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Nevada law.
This will be interesting. Police are treated as gods by the courts and 50/50 loved/hated by society. Cyclists are viewed as subhuman. My bet is police will care about cyclist safety because of this for about a month.

Out of all the people who have died in a bicycle accident, why does this one stand out to you?
I stopped cycling after a driver intentionally ran me off the road. Fortunately it was a long slow roll down a hill and I wasn't much hurt though I had to walk ten miles with a mangled bike over my shoulder.
You have to be deranged to call that video an accident.
I looked it up and all I see are headlines that the teens are being charged with murder, so perhaps quit with the stupid baiting topic. It's a very sad story.
Same thing happened a week or two ago in Huntington Beach too. A "juvenile" (arrested, but not identified) one night went out and hit bicyclists at 3 separate locations. A 70 year old man died from the impact.

The “running community” hosted all of those ceremonial activities commemorating Ahmed something or other. There won’t be a single cycling event held in this guy’s honor and he was unquestionably a white victim of black (it is lowercase, folks) hate. The hypocrisy is the point, of course.
