Don’t say “I don’t want to drink because I have a workout tomorrow”. It just adds unnecessary fuel to their flame.
Just say no I’m good I’m not drinking tonight, if they press you any further seriously say no I’m good tonight and if they push any harder go talk to someone else and reconsider who you hang out with.
Just hold the beer and pretend to drink it. And if someone offers you another one just say you're still working on one. This is what I do when I'm in a social setting where everyone is drinking but I don't feel like drinking.
"I'm in a program."
" I cant afford to take the next 6 months off"
When you get the baffled look your response is 'thats what happens when I take one drink"
"I don't feel like smoking crack tonight"

I especially like the idea of reconsidering the people you hang out with. You don't need people like this in your life.
“SMD”
"I'm pregnant."
F*** off
People who try to put pressure on others to drink are annoying. Why try to do that? I'd just say do what you want.

Tell them you agree that downing one drink won’t ruin anyone’s night and empty the drink on their head.
I can understand if you don't want to drink, and that's fine. But would 1 drink ruin your workout? Just asking.
Bonus points if you're male. It's 2023 - who are people to judge?
Jesus dude. Are you 18-21? That's the only age bracket where I could see a young nervous runner coming to the boards for advice on how to weasel out of having a couple of beers.
The missed rest from being out at a party will have a worse effect on your workout than the 1 drink would anyways. Get to bed.

They're douchebags. We're supposed to be grownups. To drink or not is your own choice.
Anon? What anon? No wonder you're a socially awkward loser. Spend less time on the internet, maybe then you'll be able to have proper social interactions without being a pushover.

“I’ve had a little too much to drink in my life.” Always works
"I choose not to drink"
