Dont comment if you dont know what happened, Hartmen had a seizure at arond 2 miles and ahmed stopped to help him, I was there with another team and watched it happen. they where both running up towards front when it happened. so pretty good damn win without there 2 and 3. Pluse cf did not hide facr they where running half race at tempo and that was obvious to as Merrick was 30 -40 deep until tempo was over.

Just a workout. Wtf does that even mean? Maybe a legit excuse for the Urbandale meet, but not Heartland.
Look at dowlings times from Marshalltown and look at todays, Marshalltown was a meet they did not want to lose! This course today was quicker then Marshalltown and their times where way slower, you do understand alot of teams do not run every race all out right? So A they are all injured or be they used this race as a workout and ran tempo for some of it. I have no ties what so ever to dowling but pretty easy to see. so thats wtf it means
Zuber was roughly 3 seconds slower, gilbert freshman technically were not slower, their 15.50's came on a shorter course. Dunaham (SP) ran his fastest of the year. exactly why it looks like Dowling used it as workout, actually smart. really no need to run every meet all out when you trying to have chance at state title. so far by what ive seen from what i consider front runners in state, zuber is one of few thats ran every race all out, hopefully that dont catch up with him as he is definitely a front runner for state title.
Just curious. Why enter your team in a meet you have no intentions of running to win, do your best, etc... Scheduling 2 meets a week is understandable considering weather implications, level of competition etc... Why not just run your next best 7 after your varsity and give them a chance to bust into the top 7 and just get a quality workout at home with your top guys? I mean, if you're so good and all. Seems like humblebrag to say we just ran tempo for a workout and make excuses.
Dont get mad, just give a reasonable explanation. 7 to 10 days between races is the best plan and just run your jv as varsity and dont worry about rankings if you are that good.

BS. They actually performed better relative to Ankeny and DCG than they did at Marshalltown. Marshalltown’s course is exceptionally fast if not short, and Central’s isn’t slow by any means, but it’s slower than Marshalltown. Dowling just isn’t the dominant team some expected them to be.

Actually typically agree with you but Marshalltown is not short, Its one of only ones besides birdsal that My kid runs on that we see 3.1 on watches and stravas. I have always said Marshalltown is fairly quick course. most kids have 3.11 there with an occasional 3.09. Dowling definitely isnt dominant but thier times where slow and it wasnt the course by looking at others times.

If a team can tempo and still win, Theres all kinds of benifits, One they get to practice the start, they get to practice hopefully pack running. Can teach them to settle in shortly after hard start and not run first my to quick if thats the tempo script. Some ad's set up the yearly schedules and expects the coaches to have the team at the meets.

Ankeny 1:19:53 - 1:22:33
DCG 1:20.41 - 1:24:00
Norwalk 1:21:20 - 1:23:40
Dowling ran faster yesterday relative to the other teams from Marshalltown. Did they jog even slower at Marshalltown. Didn't you say they tried there?
Did those teams run all the same kids? With your thinking that puts Zuber in the 14:40's somewhere then, Zuber only lost 3 seconds of that. why was rest of Ankeny so much slower. maybe it was a case of top 3 or 4 kids broke away and rest of field just raced. Im basing my opion off Zuber and Dunahams times. Zuber was right where he typically runs and I believe that was Dunahams quickest this season. Flori went a 15.32 in Marshalltown and Deroacher a 15.28 and could only run in 16's at heartland.
Yes same kids. You must be used to examining data if you are focusing on one or twondata points when you have 50 to compare. Yesterday ran more than 20nseconds slower than Marshalltown. Zuber would have gone 14:50 at Marshalltown all else being equal.
