With a new season on the horizon, there is much anticipation about who will first cross the line in November with King Alex Phillip on his way out. Will we see a shake-up in the top 10 returners, or will it be cut and dry who the favorites are? How will the teams from the podium last year in snowy Michigan end up this year? Who's the dark horse team to make the podium?
Mo Bati of Augsburg just ran a 64 half marathon at Grandma's. After an uneven year, he has to be in the conversation along with Collet, Patzka, Schlender, and Gregg. I'll throw Svienty, Kearney (or some other random MIT guy) and a PP guy of your choice for some variety.
Rose Hulman is recruiting me and the coach told me that they are going to have have the biggest men's xc team in all of NCAA. I don't think they will make a huge impact this year, but in 2-3 years they will make significant improvement, with a team of 60~ guys

Honestly surprised to see John Carroll that high considering that if it weren't for Phillip they wouldn't have sniffed the podium either of the past 2 years. Also I would say Hopkins and Carnegie are def gonna be legitimate teams contending for top 3 spots this year.
He seems to run a crazy half marathon every year at grandmas but never produces on a national level during any of the 3 seasons
Mo ran a 2:18 marathon last year at gmas. Ran the 64:22 this year.
He did have an up & down season, but I’m curious to see how he and his coach adjust. Did he peak to soon? Does he better manage school/work/Ramadan etc this year? Can the coach adjust his training to maximize his talent?
Im definitely more interested to see what he does vs other top runners, obviously he has the talent to win but also he finished way back in the field last year.

North Central had a crazy track season with 4 under 14:10 and 5 under 14:22 and they aren't even in the top 10? huh?
to be fair to the poster, he said they didn't have enough returners in xc to be scored at the national meet and mentioned them specifically because he knew they'd place somewhere. They did mildly choke after a pretty good regional meet (the opposite of Wartburg who usually does the reverse)

PP Is returning everyone except Rosencrans, who was their 5th last year but ran 14:01 and 1:51 this spring. How are they not on this list?
Geneseo will not be top 10, MIT won't be top 5, Hopkins will not be better than CMU and Calvin won't be better than George Fox. RPI and Pomona will be in the top 5 with Whitewater, Wartburg & La Crosse.
With the dismantling of the Atlantic Region a few years ago, and thus, the death of the annual Letsrun D3 AR thread, I have lost approximately 70% of my enthusiasm for the sport.
