A couple frames before that it looks like she may have clipped barnett by just stepping on her foot as it was coming up which may have been what swung it into her knee too
Barnett's foot hit Osullivan's knee which pushed her foot into her leg. Osullivan too close, probably not a dq, might get Barnett into final?
When I'm wrong, I'll admit it. I just took a good slow look at it and you are correct, her foot DID hit O'Sullivan (see photo). I don't think it should cause a DQ, though. Seemed incidental.
Some of you guys are blind! Barnett did not trip over her own feet and she was not pushed. Her foot hit o'sullivans leg on its back swing and that sent her foot into her other leg.
That is exactly what I saw. Barnett was in the lead and could not see what was happening behind her. It’s the responsibility of the trailing athlete to avoid contact. Please see the Decker/Budd incident for reference.

I don’t want to see Mia go. Bob says she was pushed, and someone says Tuohy was involved. Where was she relative to Barnett?
lol. Barnett tried to reach out to grab onto Tuohy to avoid losing her balance after she got tripped by Osullivan

Good find. Whenever someone "trips over their own feet" while running in traffic, it almost always turns out that their foot clipped another runner first (regardless of fault).

Agree. As announcers stated, she was slowing down when it happened. When you lead a crowded, fast field and you slow down this sort of stuff happens. Certainly not a DQ. Maybe she gets advanced and maybe she doesn’t, but Barnett only has herself to blame.
I didn't realize O'Sullivan was running royalty. She looked a bit ungainly, but she looks to be the class of the field if she can keep from getting into bad situations.

I watched the replay frame by frame a few times through and Barnett did not clip O'Sullivans knee. The frame you have doesn't show anything. The last 3-4 stride cycles all look like that, and clearly she didn't clip her knee 4 strides in a row. Barnett hit the back of her calf with her trail foot and tripped herself.
