Generally there are white lights running at the requested pace, and purple running ahead of it. I imagine that she asked for slower-that-WR pace lights because she was more concerned bout taking it out too fast than she was about lagging at the end.

This would be a better race with Hassan, or especially Tsegay. Maybe someone will take it out fast, but it doesn't seem particularly likely.

Fair? I’ll you what’s not fair: XX athletes racing XY athletes. It was an unpaced race and Kipyegon ran the last 400 in 59, last 200 sub-28 and opened up a gap on everyone except Niyonsaba. Can’t turn your nose up at that.
