I still think Frerichs is legit — got into the sport relatively late, is in a weaker event.
I think Shelby overdid whatever grey area stuff BTC was into, and the women are doing poorly now bc, even if they weren’t doing, they chased around a doper in practice. Plus, maybe being scared now so they don’t even do the gray area stuff.
Oh, and Shelby still getting money from somewhere. She doesn’t even seem to be trying to get a job.
Here is my theory: Shelby learned how to do some gray area stuff from Centro while they were dating. Maybe he took it up from Salazar or his dad, idk. She got caught and they separated so Centro would be less associated with her. Centro also got scared away from doing whatever he was doing as a result, and now he is a lot slower.
No real evidence to back this up but hey this is Letsrun after all. Also I don't think Jerry is running a larger doping scheme with BTC, but I do think he's a bad coach for many reasons:
1. not knowing what nandrolone is. It's part of your job as an elite coach to be well versed in banned substances, so that you can help your athletes avoid exposure to them in supplements, etc.
2. Spreading himself too thin between college athletes and pros.
3. Being seemingly apathetic, inflexible, and overly controlling with his athletes with regards to racing.
4. Similar to #3, having a one-size fits all training scheme that ignores athletes' specific needs and causes the non-superstars/different body types to get injured or burnt out.
All of those reasons^ are however founded on evidence, mainly from interviews with current and former BTC athletes and Jerry himself.
My theory is that she came into things clean with big dreams but in 2017 she realized how much further ahead everyone was, and how they were all probably doping. She had improved her 5K time dramatically since turning pro, but was still at 15 flat, which just wasn't cutting the butter on the world stage. She wanted more so she turned to her resources and started doping.
And I say doping. Not grey area. Dope. I'm sick of grey area, there is no grey area, there's cheating and there's not cheating.
But she rationalized it in her head, because I think she felt guilty knowing that not all of her teammates were on the dope and they were watching her dramatically improve while they remained stagnant. She thought "if I don't wear the shoes, it doesn't count as much". She thought "if it's not crazy, like EPO it doesn't matter." and she started racking up titles and records and looked like a real medal contender. But she slept like a baby at night knowing that her top competitors do worse, and she "doesn't wear the shoes".
Her relationship with Centro will always be a weird red flag. That they broke up shortly after she was busted also rings suspicious.
The audacity she has to have asked the running community for money while she’s getting paid under the table. She’s probably training with btc in Utah right now.
she’s moving from Portland where she’ll land in flagstaff and all the athletes there will have to avoid her constantly.
Only on LRC would someone be outraged ("audacity") by something that is a wild conspiracy theory (paid under the table) and is almost certainly not true. Hmm, come to think of it and not to inject politics into this, but that is the entire playbook of a major political party dominated by a former President so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Carry on.

she definitely is getting funded by someone in some way.
regardless-asking for money when you made six figures, and calling a standard doping ban an "injustice" was entitled and spoiled behavior.
I really believe Karissa, Elise, and Courtney are clean. I don't even question it, to be honest. But why why why are they okay with Shelby tagging along to the same altitude camp location? I know they think she's innocent, but the optics are so bad and it's awkward.
Elise Cranny? Yes, I do. Because I think she's a really good person who gives people the benefit of the doubt. It's sad that this mess reflects badly on her, since she was new to the group.

Elise cranny is a grown adult with her own suspicious progression who has shilled for someone serving a doping ban. I have no idea what sort of person she is. She has gone out of her way to protect and defend Shelby, and she surely understood the suspicion she would be under if she did that.
all this “she’s a good person” crap…you don’t know that. It’s just bias. You take a look at a pretty white girl and all of a sudden they are too good a person to do anything wrong, or too smart to mess up a glow time, or too relatable to make any mistakes. It’s annoying. Stop

Well if you look at it from the angle of: Centro isn't cheating so why would he stay with someone that is. It makes perfect sense why they'd break up.
They're professional athletes and if one is clean and one isn't a break up seems super rational?
Ofc if you want to get all tinfoil hatty then sure it looks suspicious. But if you don't go down the conspiracy route it makes sense.
Also Centro went for an AR after the Shelby stuff and also had a huge surgery. He recently ran 3:36 and has noted taking a conservative approach to training again lol. Not everything is a conspiracy. ..
I believe that Karissa, Elise, and Courtney are clean. They seem very straightforward, honest people. They are in a training program that produces large numbers of U.S. and even world contenders in the 5000m, and for good reason: BTC takes very talented collegiates and gives them huge volume and even high quality speedwork as well. Grant Fisher isn't doping. If Karissa is clean and ran 14:26 when she had a great training partner, and if Monson is running low 14:30s, why not 14:24? I had suspected that Houlihan was doping when I saw the explosive finish she had at USATF in the 1500m champs one year, and she eventually tested positive, but I don't know for sure because I also know that there are steroids in the industrial farming system in Mexico and the United States now in order to raise animals bigger and faster, whether poultry, beef or pork, and that the testing has become sensitive enough to catch low, incidental levels ingested from it.

Why does this kind of stuff get upvotes? It’s make believe nonsense. My apologies if it’s an inside joke.
