Brakes a Foot? <facepalm>
Brakes a Foot? <facepalm>
Deer Adam Goucher,
I hope you join me in wishing Hillary well after this tough brake.
What's Sean McGorty's situation currently?
Training, probably not shooting for the steeple.
It is interesting that Henry Marsh of the mid 1980s, like 1984 or 1985, would have a good chance to make the US Team this year. I would imagine there are a few others from that era who (in their primes) could make the US Team this year, but it is a bit surprising too.
If he truly had a foot fracture then it will be much longer than 6 weeks before he is running normally. Perhaps if it was just a stress fracture he could be back by then but normally with a fracture event it is a complete fracture. If it is the 5th metatarsal then he will need surgery and it will be at least 3 months before he is able to run at 100%.
This got me thinking...does this open up a spot for LetsRun podcast guest and wearer of the LetsRun singlet at the 2023 Houston Half Dan Michalski of the US Air Force WCAP? He was 4th at the 2021 trials and was one of only 8 US men to hit the WCS last year. This could be the year for him if he is able to put it together. Although the WCS this year of 8:15.00 is 5 seconds faster than his PB, he has reached a peak world ranking of 20, which would be inside the cutoff of 36 for the 3000mSC. Let's hope his momentum starts this weekend as he runs the steeplechase at Portland Track Fest.

He was slowing down for the water jump, silly.
then that was his mistake. You need speed to clear that thing
