The other problem is the two superstars that almost always show up and perform when scheduled Mondo and Crouser aren’t promoted
im not sure the letsrun podcast preview even mentioned either
This is such an important point. Athletics needs to build its brand around people who show up, not flakey talent like Richardson, SML, and Jacobs. People like Lyles, Duplantis, Crouser, Rojas, Jakob, Kipyegon, and Kerley. They're dependable and at the very top of their game, you can build a sport around them

Kerley is an idiot the guy cant' even string together 2 sentences. He's also obviously doping and it's just a matter of time before get gets popped as stupid as he is.

Kerley shows up and runs well. By the end of today, he'll have raced in the US, Japan, Australia, and Morocco just this year. He'll be in Europe next month. The 100m world champ is showing up for the sport, he gets his responsibilities, and yes, he will hopefully get well paid for it. He's playing the game extremely well, making a lot of money on the way, which tells me he's a lot smarter than you seem to think
The meet achieved exactly what it was supposed to. It put a lot of money in Bobby Ks pocket.
comparing it to the 1980s the competition with sports on tv is ridiculous. Most of which if you said they would be competition 50,years ago people would have thought you were joking. Flick through ESPN. Axe throwing cornhole break dancing softball poker etc etc
When the meets as first announced didn't they promise some kind of concert and other types of entertainment for the fans? The meet was supposed to be a center piece of all these other fun things to change how meets are presented. Was any of this done? Pretty much seemed like this was just another meet nothing special
I'm not going to say this is racist, but this is an extremely unfair comment. He was brought up in a household with about 13 kids having been adopted by his aunt when his parents were unable to take care of him (one being in jail) and still managed to work his way through JUCO to a Texas A&M scholarship and is now one of the most versatile sprinters there has ever been, whilst also having a great understanding of the business behind the sport and being present all around the circuit. Indeed he will have raced on 5 continents by the end of next month. He is truly a credit to the sport and I don't know why you would get on here and type such vitriol.
