It’s crazy early but off of this track season who do you guys see as being the best teams in the state?
It’s crazy early but off of this track season who do you guys see as being the best teams in the state?
Boys
1A- Indian Rocks Christian should win again. They return everyone after winning 1A.
2A- Bolles should be able to win again. They lose 3 guys but they still return solid depth
3A- Belen. And it won’t even be close. Best team in not just the state, but the Nike Southeast region as well. They are also in the conversation to win the national title.
4A- Christopher Columbus. They got 2nd last year but they aren’t losing many people. They return 5 guys under 10:10.
Creekside will be good again too and returns 4 guys under 10:10 (including their ace Simonds), but they need a 5th runner and they are graduating most of their varsity.
Belen Jesuit Prep is going to be at the top for quite some time.
They had 3 juniors, 5 sophomores, and 2 8th graders under 10:10 for the 3200 this spring
Satellite will be a team to watch for the next 2 years
They return:
Carr - 10:01 - 10
Foster - 10:06 - 10
Wilson - 10:11 - 9
Delia - 10:17 - 10
Carty - 10:18 - 9
Butler - 10:21 - 10
They could be really good in 2024. They have a history of guys stepping up out of nowhere
Hagerty FL will be a team to watch
Leon - 9:10
Scanlon - 9:58
Madruga - 10:06
Abbate - 10:12
Younger Leon - 4:37
Davis-Medina - 2:06 (as a freshman)
Leon should make some noise this year
Koon - 8:44 3200
Springer - 9:40 3200
Carrasquilla - 9:49 3200
Winsor - 9:58 3200
Maxwell - 4:38 1600
All but Maxwell will be seniors
They have had almost the same varsity team for years, lead by a superstar Koon
Bolles will be really good in 2024 as well
Adams - 10 - 9:13 3200
Ruge - 10 - 4:28 mile
Barre - 10 - 16:36 XC 5k
J Camp - 10 - 4:33 mile
H Camp - 8 - 4:44 mile
While Bolles will be good, they have the chance to be even better if the group behind Adams closes the gap to him. Would make a crazy strong top 5
Hagerty did well this track season without Seymour.
They had 4 sub-10 guys including a 9:10.
Hagerty returns:
9:10, 9:58, 10:06, 10:12, 4:37, 4:55, 4:56
Hagerty returns 5 guys under 17 as well
Nease looks really good
Ryan - 12 - 9:07
Corkran - 11 - 9:43
Jaysraman - 12 - 9:43
Thomas - 12 - 9:54 (no XC results)
Pittman - 12 - 9:57
Voils - 11 - 10:12
Schroeder - 12 - 10:12 / 16:55 5k
Crawford - 12 - 4:43
Castro - 12 - 17:36 5k

Women:

Uh, this thread is about high school XC, not college XC
