Back in mid-December I was diagnosed with a tibial stress reaction that ended my winter season early. It was tough but i knew something was wrong when i couldn't walk without limping. Got put in a boot for 2 weeks and then did pt for another 4 weeks. Start of February got cleared to run again i started getting back with smaller runs starting from .5miles 3days on 1 day off every 3 days I was told to go up half a mile and then stop and maintain at 3miles a day.At this point the goal was to be healthy and run well for spring in march to may so i Got in the gym consistently and was running ab 15 miles per week and built up to consecutive 20 mile weeks during the season. about 1 month ago, i felt the same shin starting to hurt me again, but i was able to ignore it until weeks later (now) the season is over and im back to walking and limping. I plan to take a month off and then start summer base training for xc
but i would like to know what I should do to maintain aerobic fitness and become a better runner in this month i take off
