wejo & rojo have both repeatedly stated the message boards are designed for discussions that would occur on a run. politics go to the main board.
even if there was a sub board, i doubt it would be used because 1) people are lazy and would post to the main anyway and 2) people are stupid and a political board would quickly devolve into name-calling and hate. people want to win, not debate or arrive at a place of knowledge and understanding.
Not sure about the other boards but his one is getting absolutely ruined by politics.
The political threads get the most clicks. The running section would be a desolate wasteland without the political threads and trolling
To elaborate, think of letsrun like a grocery store. The political threads are like the items on sale: they are meant to drive in traffic and increase clicks, and hopefully, in the process, increase clicks on running content as well.
It would be called the "Educating Liberals" board. It is fascinating how clueless those people are, yet so confident and easily angered all at the same time.

A more apt description would be to think LetsRun was like a shopping center with a variety of stores.
Rather than ignoring the stores that don't interest them there's a breed of people that will only go into the stores that do not interest them for the sole purpose of complaining about what the store sells or the type of people that actually shop in the stores.
I do not go into the Nail Salon or the Pay Day Loan or the Vegan Cupcake Shop in my local shopping center because I can tell by the sign outside that they don't sell anything I'm looking for.
If one really works at it this is possible to do on a forum as well.

Usually disagree with your takes but this one was well said. I have to say though that this is not necessarily mutually exclusive to my analogy. You can easily imagine a situation where people who go to shop at a specific destination in a mall will gravitate to other nearby stores as well. Good analogy though, I agree
