According to the linked news article, this wasn't the state meet but an invitation shortly before state.

It still shows how very modest JV male times (5:27 1600) can have a huge effect the girls' varsity division (in this case also the team title).

These issues are not worth worrying about. We are living in easy times if this is a problem. Our ancestors would have laughed at this as trivia. But so many of you are so soft and live such easy lives that you care about this.

Being born a male gives you an advantage in sport whether you are fastest, or slowest. It's an unfair advantage. It is much easier to run the times you are running because you are born male than if you are born a female.

Maelle belongs in the boy's or open division. For Maelle to compete against cis girls displaces them unfairly because Maelle has an unfair advantage of being born male over them. This isn't the same thing as a swimmer having good wingspan or a basketball player being born tall. Being born a male is not some genetic gift Maelle was given over girls. There is a category for Maelle to compete and it is the boys or open category.

How much would that suck to be a dude, get into an all female race in your sport, and get beat?

His main sport is soccer as well. This is a travesty.

I coached a girl that scored at the state meet in the 1600m, 800m and High Jump. She was not doping and she was actually a girl.

People with soft and easy lives are the ones who don;t care about it.

you guys are insufferable, if you really just cared about integrity in the sport, you guys wouldn’t be mocking a teenager for their identity, constant personal attacks and misgendering.

I can’t even pretend to understand what it must be like for them, nor do I understand why someone would do that, I imagine they’re not going through surgery and name changes just to be better at youth sports.

I think you guys could really just learn to be nicer so you actually look like you care about the sport, and not just hate trans people.
