The women's 1500 is just as bad as the men's. Cranny and Andrews should both be on the list since they have qualifiers. Cranny dipped under 4 twice last summer in the WC qualifying period. She's as likely to run the 1500 as the 10k at trials.
Dani Jones hasn't broken 4:06 in a couple of years. Angel Piccarillo is on there because she outleaned Tuohy at Wake? She didn't break 4:10 last year. Appelton who ran slower than both Piccarillo and Tuohy is 6th? These three and McKay are a big drop off Hurta-Klecker still. I won't say Tuohy belongs on this list but she's defintely on par with these ladies.
I'd put Cranny in front of McGee and Andrews behind. McGee has been in all the diamond league and made it to the world finals but seems to be back of the pack in those races. Cranny beat her twice last last summer in 1500s. McGee beat Andrews 4 times last summer.
Hiltz is a hard one to pin down, she's on form now but it has been a couple of years since she performed well consistently. She could be anywhere from 1st to off the list. Hurta-Klecker is still unproven in a fast 1500/mile. Schlachtenhaufen beat both in the Wanamaker.
I knew these guys were out of date when they stopped updating the sub-4 milers list because of super shoes. They strike me as a bunch of boomers who love to yell at clouds.
Why is hocker even on this list? When was the last time he even ran a 1500?
Can't we please stop with this ageism tripe? Haven't we enough frictions along social boundaries already without manufacturing some?

Who needs a list of Sub 4 minute miler guys? The list would be 10x larger if other nations actually ran the distance.
Newsflash...4 minutes was accomplished in 1954, 69 years ago Why are we still discussing it! If you can't run 4 minute mile, you aren't that good.
I have used their formcharts for many years to help follow the Olympic and World Championships and the US trials; they average getting 2.1 of the top 3 correct, and it is rare that any of the top 3 are not in their top 10. So they don't do too badly.
I don't want to defend T&FN, but their traditional ranking is based on 3 criteria in this order: 1) honors won; 2) head to head; 3) times. Since the 2023 outdoor season is just getting started, the only way they can seed people is based on last year's results and indoor times. Teare is #1 because he won nationals last year. Thompson was #3 at nationals and was the highest (and only) American to make the World Championships final. Nuguse was injured last year so his ranking is based solely on his fantastic indoor times. Hocker was also injured last year but before getting injured he beat Teare at Pre. The mystery is Centro getting a ranking since he didn't race last year or this year.
