Highlights include Chesney Peterson's win in the 2A Girls' Race in 10:29 (2A State Meet Record) and a tight 3A Boys' Race won by Samuel Ferguson of Wichita Trinity in 9:20.
Seems watered down with having 6 classes. Florida only has 4 but why not just have a single class since track is classified as an individual sport?
Maybe, I grew up in Kansas. There is just more of a spread between the rural High Schools with only a few hundred students to the city districts with enough headcount they could be 5A or 6A even in large states. Because of how spread out and rural most of Kansas is, there is just a high number of schools compared to states with a much higher population. I was at a 5A school and it seemed pretty fair as we couldn't come anywhere close to competing against 6A schools, but would dominate the 4A's.

I could see that. I am in Indiana that has single class and just a quick look at some of the kansas class finals they kids wouldn't make it to state.

For everything CIF does wrong having one unitary division for the state meet is literally perfect. It creates the single greatest and most competitive state meet in all of the United States
