An all time list for each state going head to head would favor California, but Utah should win this year.
If we took the 7 best all time 3200/5k athletes from each state, it would probably go something like Cali, Utah, Texas, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Florida, Illinois, New York and then some mixture of New Jersey, Indiana, Idaho, Wisconsin, and many many more

Can we stop referencing NXN? It’s a team championship run in the mud. How many of these kids are beating Engelhardt or Griffith or Simmons on a track right now?
Andrew Rafla- 8:50 at Arcadia Nathan Green- 8:53 in Idaho Elijah Armstrong- 8:52 at Arcadia Dallin Farnsworth- 8:55 at Arcadia Paul Ryan ran 9:02 pre-super shoes at Arcadia Erik Harris ran 9:04 at the Idaho State meet in 2012. Heemeyer ran 8:57 last year.
Those are probably the top 7 at the moment in terms of quality of performance. I suspect that 5-7 (possibly 4-7) might change this weekend. 3 future sub 4 minute milers in that group, though. Slagowski never gunned a fast 3200 or he would certainly be on this list. Idaho very well may double it's number of sub 9 guys this weekend between Max CS, Helder, Sheesley, Lucas, and Ringert all running the 3200 at Arcadia. 5A might have 7 sub 9 guys this year with Stadtlander and Heemeyer, as well. Maybe 8 if Kemper can put together a 3200.
