my kid had a good frosh year track season, but number 1 sport is soccer. If his primary events are the 3200 and 1600, I’m assuming some type of base will help dramatically going into indoor track next winter (he only did outdoor this year but next year will do indoor). What can he do over the summer - meaning is 20-25 miles a week 3-4 days enough to make a difference? He’s got some natural talent, ran a 10 flat and 4:37 1600 this year - making pretty dramatic improvements along the way- after a fairly sedentary 4 months following last soccer season - just stepped on the track for the first time in his life in March
