I know white shoes are meant to sell more as they get replaced more quickly. I don't buy white sports shoes because they often get trashed on the first use, i.e. any kind of foray through a forest or swamp etc.
Surely a lot of people are the same? I just wonder why there aren't more shoes that are natural earthy colours like green, brown or grey. I buy black shoes as they don't look terrible so quickly but I would rather have a green shoe!
Actually realised I do have grey allbirds but you can't run in them.
Go to a running store and you'll know. People who buy running shoes don't run. Women care SIGNIFICANTLY about color. Men are more flexible. White shoes sell well because people don't actually run in them so they rarely get dirty.

Because they’re ugly. Trail shoes are usually those colors though. We also associate certain colors with being fast and racing: fluorescent green or yellow, bright red, orange.
I think blue is just universally liked by everyone.
Peg 39 had a bunch in those colors.
Because the market for running shoes is closer to once a week 2hr30 half runner than the 6 times a week serious runner (I mean commited not necessarily fast)
Id wear plain black ones and Id still buy exactly the same number of pairs, but to a casual the latest fluorescent colourway trigger a desire to buy in their little hamster brain and increases sales
Ive got some ASICS novablast 3s with a bright orange and red sole though so who am I to judge they look cool
Yeah, I would like blue shoes, just aren't as many of those about. I do think green is a great colour but there aren't many of those either.
I suppose cross country spikes (and trail shoes) do have more of the appearance I prefer, but the sole doesn't work. It's mainly for grassy and slightly muddy areas. I did go into a shop and honestly about 95% of the shoes were practically neon white.
