I also h8 what the Newbury Park runners did this year by abandoning the High School that made them famous. They all would have been much better off running with their team and competing for the state titles. This was all kicked off by SB not waiting for them to graduate and taking the money and running to UCLA. This could have been a historic year if Sean had stayed with 4XMile, DMR and 3200 national records (not a believer in the Lukas record). It would have been 3-sub 4s and 3-sub 8:35 and a 1:46.xx. Dégoûtant.
It’s especially weird they’re not running hs when Brosnan’s wife is the coach. So it’s not like some stranger came in and room over the program who the kids has no ties to or who wanted to change their training.
Crazy this NP group isn’t gonna run any relays together
The midwest is probably the most over represented region at the top of hs distance running outside of utah numbers wise and people still act like they’re set up for failure

They haven't run the State meet at all in their 4 years of high school. this year wasn’t anything different.
Good point. So much set-up opportunities for these guys. Blessed to live in SoCal.
Simeon and Burns come out to California and just throw down. Take a Young twin, dump them in the Midwest, and they don’t do what these guys have.

Nothing compares to being in California. These kids in the midwest are shoveling snow to workout during parts of the school year. The fact that they are represented so highly at all speaks volumes about their ability.

Strongly agree with this. People REALLY underestimate the advantage sunshine states bring in dopamine, training, and fitness. Quite frankly Florida should be much much better at distance than they already are. Some of those guys in the midwest would be even better if they lived somewhere with a good amount of sun and no snow.
