I get that, but it really seems pointless, run the 15, why bother with a mile? Makes almost, almost I said..lol..sense
It seems like Nike/Capriotti (consultant) are basically making this a mini Pre Classic with that meet serving as the DL Final. So this is maybe a homage to the Bowerman mile?Getting the Cheruiyots instead of it just being a domestic affair indicates they're using some pull with their pros.
I guess maybe?? I do not see that in any way as some driver for this change , just my opinion. It was never communicated to Coaches at least as of this morning...no big deal, you run this no matter. I think although the distances are looked at without much distinction...the extra 100 plus as a mind set, has people let it all loose slightly later..if you get what I mean? Slightly. You have to get the last 100+ home, not completely waxed at 1500M.

I agree with you, pacemaking/wind seem to have further importance in a mile and if you’re the organizers is that what you want. Pre Mile is almost always slow as the third lap is run near 60 seconds. European stadiums tend to offer better wind protection though maybe this stadium is better than old Bowerman I don’t know. If this were a 1500 I’d think 3:31 would take it, as a mile I think 3:49 or 3:50.

It now says again that it is a 1500M, but at 4:22 Eeastern and the viewing window starts on NBC at 4:30? Why?
Yeah...really hope they have the world feed available to us because I'd like to see the race. Hope it is a 1500, and to the fast times predicted previous poster correct in Tim or the youngster Reynold (who's run a solo 3:33) would push it. I think Tim wants to return to his 2017-2021 style and while occasionally he'd run 3:33/3:50+ he mostly ran 3:28-3:32.
It is the mile, and it will be switched with the men’s 800, so the mile will be in the nbc window but the 800 will not.
How do you know this? I've been trying to get a definitive schedule from meet organizers and have been unsuccessful so far. That 1500 NEEDS to be in the NBC window. Especially because, as far as I can tell, there is no way to watch the Saturday events that are outside the TV window.
