I’m in high school and have a good base under me like consistently high 40s, low 50s since January and was higher in cross. I am entering my post season. Next week I have two races on back to back days a 3200 and a 1600. The 1600 is the next day after the 32 about 20 hours later. I really want and need to set PR in 1600 and this will be my last chance to run the 1600 but would like to bump my time down in both events for college purposes and both these events will have good comp. I would say I am better at the 3200 and have raced it way more this season. Hardly any 1600/. What would be the advice? I am out of season so my school coach isn’t around to ask and we don’t have a summer group at school. My times in case that matters are 4:28, 9:19; 15:38. Oh and I might have a chance to run one more 2 mile in June but not totally sure but no other chances to run a 1600/mile. Thanks.
