Prime Time - Deion Sanders - comes in as the new football coach and at his introductory press conference literally bragged about how he wanted to make things miserable for the players that were on the team - "We're going to make you quit." Now something like 80% of the players have been forced to leave. And he's praised.
Wetmore. meanwhile, didn't intentionally try to do anything harmful. Quite the opposite, he a walk on come on to the team, someone Sanders would have totally dismissed as not talented enough, and she has a bad experience and now she wants him fired? What about the 75 football guys who were booted off the team?
Could not agree more with rojo. When Prime and his Buffs start losing to some lower tier teams this coming season, and they surely will, I cannot wait to see the USCs and Utahs of the world licking their chops in anticipation.
The side being expectations of integrity from the CU AD. Which is probably silly given how desperately they're chasing football relevance with a guy who habitually wears sunglasses indoors. It's certainly questionable to announce that you're investigating a program with that high of a profile and then take so long to announce the findings. The public and the media have a right to expect the other shoe to drop. I don't have any hope or expectation regarding Wetmore's and Burroughs's continued employment at CU, just get on with it already. At least for program's sake, if nothing else, since every rival program can use the investigation and still pending report as negative recruiting tools. The reasonable conclusion is that it's taking this long because there are lawyers involved in squaring away whatever action could result to CYA.
OMG a guy who wears sunglasses INSIDE! That must mean he is evil! Really, that is the thing that you are going to mention about Deion? He has done far worse things than wear sunglasses inside, but maybe that is just your thing.
U got a point Rojo. Certainly. But facts remains. And D. Sanders can afford to be hard, prolly has to cos competition in American football is so much tougher (i believe!) Compared to what running is. Maybe for every runner that wants to get on wetmores team there are 15-20 dudes that want to get on Sanders football team. Rite?
So it goes without saying that Sanders has the advantage. I have no doubt that wetmore would have done the same if he had loads of running talents to choose from. Just My thoughts! Keep up the good work.
And i just wanted to clarify, i did not intend it to sound nasty or in anyway derogatory when i said he will be gone soon. I just meant it as a simple fact of life (he is closer to the end than beginning) that the judges or executives (or whoever it is who decides) might have taken into account when wetmores case is being considered....maybe its cos English is my 2nd/3rd language i can sound unpolished at times...sry

Wetmore runs a top 5 running program, while Sanders operates at best, a top 50 football program. Much easier for Wetmore to get top recruits than Sanders.
Sanders basically got rid of all the former CU football players and replaced them with 'his guys', who in theory are better than former CU players, but on average not better than players at USC, UCLA, Utah, Oregon, not to mention Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State. Will be interesting when Prime's losses pile up.
I see. Just shows how much i know about the American sport scene. In my imagination i thought American football was super huge over there (since u suck at real football - or Sucker as u say). And elite running was a minor sport that only very, very few chose (after being unsuccessful at baseball, American football, basketball n football)...
But maybe the running scene is much larger n vivid than i believe so...maybe being among the top 5 programs Beats top 50 football programs. U tell me.
LoL, there's no crossover between running and football, well some in track but the best football/track athletes often do both in college and 0 are distance runners. Ie Wetmore and Sanders are not recruiting the same kids.
On campus, football is much more popular than running, so even lesser ranked football players will get more recognition than runners. Going pro? Old CU averaged about 1 NFL player per season. Sanders regime may produce 3-5 per year. Wetmore has regularly developed pro runners and Olympic/WC medalists. Klecker, Hurta, Constein, Herrera, Coburn and Simpson among recent group.

The real answer? America is racist & sexist but women only want to scream that when they are the victim not the perpetrators.
We can tell thousands of black male athletes to loose weight publicly and point out their physical limitations, we can tell them they’re not good enough and until they get better cut off scholarship, aid, team resources, etc…
But holy smokes, DO NOT DO THAT TO A WHITE GIRL.
The mere MENTION of eating habits, body condition, or mental acuity that a woman needs to improve is immediately categorized as ABUSE.
But no problem doing this to a male Bball, football, soccer, baseball, player ESPECIALLY if they’re a minority.
Women want to be treated as equals… but damn if they won’t acknowledge what that actually looks like.
College scholarships are renewable every year, no such thing as a 4 year ride. You learn that in the eligibility course each athletes is mandated to attend. You are fake news.

What aboutism is an argument style when you have no argument. D Sanders doesn't help your point. I don't know the best way to tell male XC runners to stay below 10% body fat. I don't know the best way to tell female XC runners to stay below 20% body fat. College XC coaches and sport psychologists quickly need to figure it out. Getting mad at D Sanders doesn't help your argument.

Agree with this 100%. White female privilege is a REAL thing--I see so many women get good jobs based on their gender (and not their quals) because of that...or they get preferential treatment in other ways professionally.
Idk how's that going for you? I was good enough to get a full scholarship to any D1 school I wanted. I have to say jokes on the CU program. Paid for 4 years and I didn't have to run a step thanks to their incompetence. I ended up doing just fine thanks. Hope you're still hobby jogging
Sounds like you overcame... Didn't have the best relationship with my coach last 2 years of college. But minus a few sleepless nights and one conversation with them I didn't let it change my life's trajectory. I now make 2x their salary run faster than they ever did or any of their much more talented athletes. but also don't think they were/are an awful person/coach. It is very true that my coach had favorites and often those favorites had nothing to do with your work ethic or the times they ran. People are fallible I sure am not perfect but I was an adult I, kept working hard in both running and school and doing that turned my life around. Yes Now I am hobby jogging and loving it stop shaming people for the life they want to live! Do I think my coach needs to be fired or even investigated for what happened while I was there? Nope no I do not. Helped me learn one very important lesson that helped me professionally at work: You sometimes don't get the promotion/raise you desire while others who don't desire those things get them. There really isn't a positive to that but the earlier someone realizes that life isn't fair and often people are the reason the better... It allows you to be able to get away from them. it's freeing to not have them be in control of your life and wellbeing It allows you to get a new job instead of staying around. Sometimes It allows you to then go watch them fail once they no longer have hard workers working for them.
That happened to me at my mortgage role a few years ago--guy was being rude but I had to let it go. He made tons more $$ than I did. I later found out they let him go because he was drinking on the job...
It all comes around! Now I make good $, almost doubling my income from $38k and am at a much better job than the one before.
The term “victim blaming” already presumes the presence of abuse, which you claim is still an open question. But but in the same breath you suggest it is necessarily abuse if any athlete finds the environment too intense.
your logic doesn't quite play here.
Just because some or many athletes would tolerate or even like an abusive coach (this happens a lot) doesn't mean the coach is not abusive.
I never said that. I was pointing out that you made the inverse assumption--that people who had bad experiences were necessarily abused.
