add the ginger runner and all the other "famous" mediocre people and i *might* just watch. i would bemoan society for celebrating mediocrity, but they'd probably just give me a participation medal and ask me "if i had fun" rather than "what was your time/"
running is supposed to be hard, not every day, but hard days mean hard and easy days mean easy. running with a videocamera or phone, taking selfies, increasing your "brand" isn't running.
Ko at 142k Subs. 5k added last month and projected to pass our fast lil' son of a gun in 4-6 months. Maybe sooner with the attention he's getting. To his credit though, Kofuzi has helped alot of small time channels by giving them attention.
I'd love to see an Instafluencer XC meet, 5000m over true XC terrain like at big meets like NXN, etc.
Kofuzi, Matt Choi, Ben Felton (Ben is Running), Ali On The Run, The Hurdle girl (Emily?), Hungry Runner Girl, Laura McGreen (the Tina Fey of running seriously), our fave, SJD, and many more!
SeriousRunner is going to sit down on the starting line to assert his dominance

This is a hilarious scene from the movie There's Something About Mary! HD quality - This is what kettlbell is NOT about :p. Stop looking for the magic exerci...
The issue isn't so much a "nine day" cycle as it is "one hard day (of some sort) and 2 easy/recovery days" repeated. This could esily be extrapolated to a 12, 15 18 or 21 day cycle depending on what else besides Threshold and a long run that you wanted in there - ie a med LR, Vo2 work, pure speed work, hils etc. As always however, there is no "magic pill" other than finding what works for you at the present time given you ability, goals AND what other stressors exist in your live (work, school, family, etc)
Didn't Kenny Moore have two easy days between hard days?
I think that KM used a 21 day cycle based on the idea of this post - 1 hard (very hard?) day and 2 easy (very easy, some of which were 3mi , or perhaps 2x 3mi on grass with Bowerman watching him). It is not well known, but KM was tha AR holder in the marathon for a while (2:11:04 perhaps)
It seems a lot of runners in this thread get offended by Kofuzi giving running tips.
But it's important to remember he's not appealing to more seasoned runners like ourselves. He's there for the true hobby- joggers mostly and In that regard - he's ok.
Any videos I've watched with him he never gives off the impression of being a know-it-all.

I think the point is that he’s slow as molasses, so - unless he’s giving recipe tips on oatmeal cookies, he should just keep his ‘reviews’ and ‘tips’ to himself.

Of course it's mediocre. He earns no money from racing. Its better than 3 hours. But its still a nothing time. Doesn't qualify for Olympics.
Kofuzi is even worse.
Everyone except for pros are hobbyjoggers. Mediocre masses.
Ahhhh…. Yeah Konfuzi is worse. Like 40mins worse.
Seth’s 2:22 is a solid time that proves his ability unequivocally.
I don't get how Kofuzi is barely breaking 3:00 after what, like 3 years of running full time? Dude is going to be irrelevant in the next few years replaced by a newer and shinier youtuber. He's boring af and doesn't really bring much to the table.
If I'm going to watch beginner content I'd rather follow someone like James Dunne, who has an insane amount of great content on injury prevention, rehabbing injuries, beginner training plans, etc. not just rambling shoe reviews and selfie stick footage. I still reference his vids once in a while.
At least SJD has really good energy and a pretty good radio voice, and a very respectable marathon PR as well as his PP wins. And the dude could have OTQd possibly even gone <2:15 had he not gone the dumb*ss scientist route. His videos up until late 2020 were gold IMO.

This is the disconnect with Kofuzi. Beginners do not run everyday like Kofuzi and do not need a 9-day cycle.
His slow but gradual improvement should be commended, but Kofuzi finally broke 3 because he has been running 70-plus miles a week for years (at least I think he has), is "running thin", and is still young enough to PR. A typical male who does not break 3 under these circumstances would be an anomaly.

The truth is, Konfuzied himself seemed pretty oblivious to the idea of workouts and recovery until pretty recently despite attempting to dish out running advice for years. Don’t let being both awful and completely clueless about something stop you from trying to present yourself as an authority on how to do it!
Seth running a 2:22 PR was actually massively impressive given how shyte his training was, as well as his lack of sleep and little recovery between his previous races. If he had hunkered down and gotten a coach he would be lining up at the trials next year.

Anyone who doesn't have cleavage to show off will soon be irrelevant on Youtube. If you don't show it, men won't click. It's so breast competitive now. Even a damn hippie chick living in some matchstick house/commune has on a bikini top that is 2 sizes too small.
