1986 Sock Racer
overall: Dragonfly is the first spike I ever tried, Vaporfly is the first shoe I really wanted, BTC peg 37 is the first trainer I put 400 miles on because I began to take running seriously
Jordans
+1 for the Sock Racer. Different than anything before or since.
I'm showing my age, but Adidas Gazelle's were (and still are) cool looking, even if wildly impractical for running.
Nike shox for sure. High quality running shoe
Lanang ST spikes
2000/2001 bowerman/el guerrouj
I have never seen a pair in person but I remember hearing about them when I was in high school (late 70"s). The Puma Brush.
Also, the first pair of spikes I ever wore were 1-2 sizes too big that I borrowed from a friend but it was worth the pain because they were the coolest shoes I'd ever seen... Suede green with black stripes...Adidas Spider.
I loved my New Balance Trackster II back in the middle to late 1960s
Nike Air Streak Spectrum racing flat from the early 2000’s. It was rereleased as a lifestyle shoe, but I loved that shoe and was sad when they discontinued it.
Came here to post this. They were just the Nike Zoom Miler plate but with the mesh upper.
Go with teh Lanangs!
One thing's for sure. It isn't the ON shoes. Ugly as sin

Asics Epirus
NB 320
Adidas Atlanta (the grey one)
Converse Equinox
Nike Mariah
I owned a pair of green Nike Air Maxes in 1995. At the time (and maybe still now) they were so popular among non-runners that, once they reached the end of their running lifespan, I sold the used pair to someone for more than I paid for them brand-new.
I always thought the Nike Mayfly looked way ahead of its time.
