Same here. The heel hanging over always reminded me of turf shoes or something like that.
Lots of good memories, on here!
OG Vics, Ethiopian(?) colorway
I remember seeing fast runners in yellow and black Nike XC shoes in the early 2000's, maybe Waffle or Zoom Streak XC. I always thought they were really cool looking.
LOL! Ingredients include "roommate's hair"

Pre-Modern Age: Tiger Ohbori and Oregon Waffle.
Modern Age: Nike Eagle. THE original modern racing flat. Very, very cool.
Post-Modern Age: Nothing. They're just clownish.

I've always liked these.
Zoom Jasari ID green and yellow
They were actually up on eBay about 5 years ago.
There he was, Gold Medalist Carlos Lopes, watching us run by with the Spiridon Golds on his feet.
Presumably the same ones he also word at the Chicago Marathon a few weeks later.
The huge Nike LDV worn by the high school kid returning from his ten mile run and passing by my house in July 1978.
Jasaris are hard to beat
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
