After a poor indoor season I decided to go all in for a fat 5k pr of sub 15 (my previous best is 15:30 in trainers) I am currently 8 weeks into my 12 week block and am beginning to transition into my 2nd phase. After an 8 week base block at 70mpw with 2 workouts a week (1 10k pace off low rest and 1 LT) and a 14 mile easyish long run at 6:15ish I plan on transitioning to 2.5 weeks of mile pace work, a few speed endurance workouts and 1 big peaking workout 10 days before race and immedietly when the taper begins. Phase 2 cuts down from 70 to 40mpw and the taper phase is never over 5 miles a day. Here is my training so far:
Week 1: Accumulation week w/ no workouts 70mpw
Week 2: Accumulation week w/ hard long run and 10xk off 2:00 @3:15
Week 3 Accumulation week w/ 3x2k @6:45 off 90" jog @7:00
Week 4: M: 6xk @3:04 off 2:30 + 4x4 @67 (this was an all out workout to see where i was after some time off. In hindight it was not the best move. Thurs: Michigan 4:58 3:40 2:25 69 all off mile in 5:55
Week 5: M: 5xmile @ 5:10 off 90" Thurs: 3x3k @10:00 off 2' jog @ 6:40
Week 6: M: 2x2k @5:05 (cut short from 4) thurs: just easy, still sore from pushing previous LR to hard (14@5:50) lesson learned
Week 7: M 5x1200m @5:00 off 90" Thurs: 4x2k @5:35 off 2:00 jog @7:00
Week 8: M 8x800m @2:24 off 2:00 Thurs: 3x mile @ 5:15 off 90" (tired so easy workout)
Week 9: M: 4x mile @ 4:54 (4:57,:53,:54,:52)

Week 9 Wed: 8x60" hil Thurs: 3x3k @9:50 off 2:00
PHASE 2 BEGIN, MILEAGE BEGINS TO CUT DOWN AND WORKOUTS TRANSITION TO VO2 + MILE PACE
Week 10: M: 3 x mile @4:50 off 2:00 Wed: 12x400m @68-69 off 90 Fri:6x100m all out 65 MPW
Week 11: 12x300m off 60 Wed: 8x60 hills Thurs: 8x600m @1:45 50 MPW
Week 12 Tues: 2x(2k, 1k) @4:48 off 90" Thurs: 8x200m all out full recovery Sun: 6x100m 40MPW
Week 13: M:6 w/strides Tu: 4 w/ 6x2 W:5 easy w/ 4x4 @72 Th: Off Fri: 3 w/ strides Sat: RACE DAY
Hows this look? Sub 15 would be a dream and training has been going beautifuly. Ive hit exactly 70 9 weeks in a row, workouts have been great and hitting better than i expected, very consistent and I've never felt as strong in a block. Any criticism coming into the last few week?
