Pros and cons for both?
Pros and cons for both?
These guys have a review up that gives a brief comparison of the sinister to the streakfly.
I just got a pair and want to run in them a few times before I pass judgement.
I haven't worn the sinister but a friend has and he said they're good.
I like the streakfly for mile-5k pace work: it's "snappy" enough to feel quite good but protects your feet like a supershoe; turns are easy and feel like a spike. You can also run good mileage on it without exhausting supershoes or spikes
Test by wearing one of each at the same time. Sinister on the left, of course.
its just a worse rf pro right? or is it higher stack
reebok floatride pro?
That might be the ideal 5k shoe, but I like the fit of the sinister better.
I've used them for a tempo, and easy run, and a set of reps now
My take: I'm a minimalist, so take that with a grain of salt
I kind of like them, think I'd take them up to half, but a lot people will be hurting past 10k or so I think.
They are definitely a flat - they have some groundfeel and they don't have the mushy feeling of the carbon plated shoes including the streakfly . They feel fast and responsive, but I think the midsole and the foam on the bottom will wear out fast. This is definitely a race and work out type shoe.
Fit: It fits true to size and is form fitting without being too tight in the toebox/forefoot. But this shoe has a weird lacing pattern - it has offset laces that are integrated into the shoe. They remind me of nike flywire - but they don't seem as abrasive on the top of my feet as flywire. I couldn't wear flywire shoes at all without pain, if that means anything. This lacing pattern means I don't think you can really relace them. This will be the first shoe I haven't lydiard laced in 15 years.
compared to the streak lt 4 (still available on ebay prob): I like the streak lt 4 more for longer distance runs - at least up to 20 miles. This shoe is probably going to be faster on grass/xc too (prob not important to too many other than me). I'd take the sinister for 10k and down and the streak lt 4 for distances between 10k and 30k.
compared to the streak lt 2: Streak lt 2 is a better shoe than the sinister. I'd rather have a pair of streak lt 2s for every distance.
I hope we see more racing flats hit the market soon. I'd like a racing flat geared for half marathon because I'd probably use it for fulls haha.
couldn't you use the streakfly for fulls?
