Wich is more important to train for improve the personal best maybe for one athlete whith the target sub 8:45 3000 meters and sub 15 5000 maybe two sessions for week at critical speed velocity ?around 3:16-3:20 per km
A sub 15 is a stronger time than a 8:45 3k. I would like to ask what this athletes current PR’s are for both the 3k and 5k. And how long ago these were run. Also, I wouldn’t recommend two CV sessions per week. It’d be better to replace the CV session with a threshold session; something like, 8x1000km@Threshold. And change the second CV session into a 5k-3k paced workout; like, 12-16x400@3k w/ 90sec rest or 16-20x400@5k w/ 30-45sec rest. And then add a hill session at around mile effort.
Run more miles, don’t worry about the exact times.
Yes i know is more dificoult the sub 15 but i think si better way yo train increasing the time at critical speed more than treshold for example 5times 4 minutes its more specific"
