I think was Starry’s point. The OP seemed surprised that this type of thing would happen in Florida, but that’s exactly the place you would expect this type of thing to happen.
He's banning public schools from any allusion to menstruation or periods. The vast majority of girls are getting their periods by the end of middle school and a lot of them now before ten, but teachers can't say a word about what's going on right there in the classroom. I thought the Republicans advocated freedom and education. Are we supposed to let some prudish religious puritanism dominate our public education system to the point where we fire teachers and principals for violating this particular governor's views? This, remember, is a guy who partied with his high school students at the Darlington School after graduation from Yale.
