Same with running. What happens when you’re caught doping? Are you prohibited from running down the street, at the local track, or competing at road races that don’t check doping bans or use a fake name?
Without reading through, ping pong is a high concentration, focus game. Some drugs could increase that. If PED's aren't needed, then no problem not taking them.

I dared challenge a fat, unathletic Asian to ping pong once and was quickly humiliated.
The top players are real athletes, because of having to be quick and move precisely.
But an ordinary, well-skilled player can easily thrash you without doing anything athletic at all. Much of it is an argument about which way the ball should spin.
The ping pong brand morphed into the version of table tennis with smooth paddles and spin much less a factor.
