hard to believe the number isn't inflated, but even if only 30% of the reported number is *from* not *with* coronavirus things aren't looking good for that little guy

He’s generally viewed as a hero by many, and he has security detail because of the conspiracy theorists and other crazies, so it seems to me he is doing quite well.

Fauci worship has actually decreased drastically since 2021. He only has a few devoted people (such as you) left.
what's in it for you to think he didn't fund the research that led to the virus in wuhan? are you being earnest yet stubborn or are you just putting up a tough front despite knowing that it was enhanced in the laboratory

There’s nothing in it for me. it’s just being sane. The conspiracy theorists take advantage of vulnerable people with the nonsense

Kooky antivaxxers and right wingers have been especially active with the trolling today. Must be because they're triggered by Dump's imminent arrest on Tuesday. Not complaining, more entertainment for me!
Tony Fraudchi is giving justification for summoning public executions once again. That evil monster deserves to face the music alive and not dead. His head is so far up his you know what that he actually thinks he's a good man. Imagine that, the devil thinks he's a good man. Not surprising, yet highly disturbing.

It may be that they’ve come to realization that maybe 0.1%- 0.5% of people actually believe what they think, and so only option is to keep supporting conspiracy theorist blogs with website visits, web traffic advertisements and continually spreading misinformation. None of their heroes are going to the public comment meetings at the FDA or elsewhere to try to present anything useful (the reason is that what they have is statistically all a crock of sh*t &people who actually work in public health know this) that would make an impact. Their excuse for this is I have no money, “big pharma”, “they don’t get it,” there must be some massive cover-up, and worldwide health authorities are all corrupt (That’s the only explanation left to keep an audience).

Almost as many as Sturgis killed har har -- remember that one, and how it "cost the economy" 20 billion $$ or whatever.

Don't forget the Putin war crime charges. He's the pied piper of the western antivax movement.

Beautifully stated. I also might add that despite all this kookiness and grifting, antivaxxers are at least accepting of diversity. Diversity of craziness that is; as long as you're nuts or a lemming, the pUrE bLoOd pAtRiOtS welcome you!

Perfect description of Dump. Well done fellow sane person!

I have no problem with NIH having funded a piddly amount of money to research in the Wuhan lab even assuming that the lab leak originated the virus (as it seems more likely than not at this point), but all that doesn’t at all affect my overall positive perception of Fauci’s lifetime of service and scientific expertise.
I'll be honest, the virus hasn't affected my personal life at all, nor has the vaccine. I can't act like there have been harms from either front for me. I just try to figure out what everyone else is thinking, like if you have chronic fatigue or some other strange inexplicable condition as a result of either the virus or the 'cure' would that make you start to question if tiny tony's lifelong government employment was really worthwhile? idk if there's anyone who doesn't think the virus was overhyped, I guess it was fun to roleplay a pandemic for a couple years and stand far away from people in lines at the store. but I think there were some people whose lives were actually negatively affected by the science fair project and if I was one of those people I would want some answers. even tho I don't really have a dog in the fight, as it were, I am still interested in seeing the truth prevail because I am frankly a bit tired of dodging these laboratory enhanced bullets and I think the best way to make it stop is to get some regulation that is enforced. bless his heart obama tried to put a moratorium on gain of function research but it turned out some people thought they knew better
Short answer: YES. Fauci spent 10 years trying to get gain-of-function research legalized. It was banned because it is dangerous. In 2017 he finally got the ban reversed and funnelled money through Peter Daszak's EcoHealth Alliance to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Barely 2 years later, a novel coronavirus suspiciously well-adapted to human transmission appears in Wuhan. Instead of coming clean about what they know, Dr. Fauci and Peter Daszak colluded to cover up its origins.
