There's no way they could prove that he did this with the intent of benefitting his campaign unless there was an email or recording... Quite frankly, he could just come out and say, "Yeah, I was embarrassed to be sleeping with such an ugly woman but sometimes you do what you gotta do"
Wow. Trump derangement syndrome rages on amongst the increasingly fascist American left. Why are you all so afraid of Trump? Worried he might stop WWIII from starting?
rojo just imagine if you didn't have this suicidal urge to talk about things outside your limited band of actual knowledge, your goal of appearing smart might have actually been within your grasp
When you stop trying to learn new things or even discuss them you become ignorant
when you take on the responsibility of running a contentious message board, only a very ignorant, self-centered individual would use it to further their own views.
Trump announced that he expects to be srrested because it keeps him in the spotlight, riles up his supporters and is a great flashpoint for raising money. Everything Trump does or says is designed to gain attention and raise money.
This is it. The right answer. His cult has yet to grasp this.
He is watching the polls that show him neck-and-neck with DeSantis and wants to create some separation. Being arrested will rally even many DeSantis supporters to his cause.
Just watch. If Trump is arrested, or even charged, it will boost his poll numbers and fund raising. He will leverage it for all it's worth.

I think you may be right with DeSantis in terms of the Trump Cult being galvanized but, in the long run, it may hurt the GOP because there's enough on the GOP center and non affiliated who are just tired of this guy's act and won't vote for him.
Arresting a former president for a misdemeanor nobody ever gets charged with is obvious banana republic/political persecution. This is what scared tyrants do to hold onto power in corrupt cartelized governments, not democratic systems. This will backfire hugely on Biden and his doomed administration.
The NY DA has turned this into a circus. His record on fighting crime is horrendous.
I've always thought it was embarrassing that the two people nominated for president in 2016 were Donald Trump and [Hillary] Clinton and joked it would be great to see both end up in prison.
. . .
When electing people, we should hold the candidates to a very high standard. But we should not be prosecuting them for stuff they wouldn't be prosecuted for as normal citizens. . . .
A "normal citizen"--Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's accomplice--was prosecuted for his role.
The logic for calling Trump's payment to Stormy a felony election law crime is a stretch.
Honestly, it is--but his accomplice went to prison for it.
If you are going to go out of your way to charge Trump, then certainly [Hillary] needs to be [arrested] for her emails.
I won't bother explaining how her email situation is very different from what he's looking at--that's been done to death already--and just say that if she goes to prison for doing official business on a private server, than Jared and Ivanka, who were official members of the Trump administration and did exactly that, should go too.
I think I'm pretty well known as someone who has never cast a ballot on the Democratic line, but to equate President Trump's wrongdoing/apparent lawbreaking in the Stormy Daniels affair with Secretary Clinton's wrong handling of emails (following the procedures of her predecessors, even) is simply absurd. False equivalency much?

The best succinct summary of his statements and actions that I have seen.
President Clinton, while in office, paid $850,000 to Paula Jones to settle her highly credible sexual harassment case. Liberals had no problem with that.
I'll be much happier with an indictment in GA and slightly less so for the Mar[-a-Lago] documents case. That's the main crime. This NY stuff...weak sauce.
I have to agree. The main benefit of a NY arrest--if it happens--is that it would break the ice and allow other indictments (in the "real" alleged crimes) to be handed down.
Fair enough. But this is a messageboard with a filter and I specifically posted this under non-running content. I could have posted it under a fake name, maybe that would have been better? But critics constantly complain about anonymity.
The messageboard has always been where people can discuss whatever they want. I say it's what the you'd talk about on a long run with your friends.
False. One of my threads was deleted because the subject involved Coronavirus.
Sure. For just one other topic among many, how long do theism/atheism threads last?

Being outside America can give you a better perspective than marinating in the media stew of lies we've been inundated with.
Let's see, Trump had the full weight of the department of Justice, the FBI and the CIA investigating him for over 3 years and they found nothing. Is there anyone else in Wash D.C. that could stand up to that kind of scrutiny? How many of us across America could stand up to that? They went after his kids, and found nothing. They finally got his tax records released and found nothing.
He was famous for years and liked by politicians, TV networks etc... It wasn't until he came down that escalator that he became an instant villain because he was an outsider, meaning he wasn't part of the good ole' boys club in Washington, which is really just a proponent of one world government. Democrat/Republican is just theatre because most people support one or the other like they're backing a sports team.
They couldn't destroy his public support. They couldn't compromise him, because he took no special interest money. He didn't even take a salary as President. Meanwhile his business suffered losses while the media relentlessly parroted, or invented anything negative they could.
It's not about liking him, or not liking him. It's not like we're gonna hang out and have a couple beers. It's easy to see the good he did for the USA. We all lived through it. The economy got noticably better for working people. Wages increased, jobs increased, we became energy independant, he got us out of wars. He got a peace agreement in the middle east - something no one ever did, or believed was even possible (you had to dig to learn about it, the media didn't tell us).
What did Obama ever do for the American people, apart from trying to spark racism and make us more socialist. For a century, most people knew socialism/communism/fascism was bad. The twentieth century is littered with examples. The results are always the same, the people become impoverished and enslaved - and those are the ones that weren't killed. Now, since the education system has been taken over, a generation of young people actually believe it's a viable system. Insane!
Rojo actually puts Trump in the same boat with Hillary? She has broken multiple federal laws - and every American knows it. After her emails were subpeonaed, she destroyed them. If any one of us had done that, we'd still be sitting in prison - and that's just the tip of the iceberg with her.

I'm not sure it was "highly credible" after seeing Paula Jones' face, but in any case, settling a lawsuit is not the same as paying someone to keep quiet. Totally different things, aren't they?
