This stuff is really, really hard to find I know, but maybe you don't have time in between your fights with semi. 9:01.81 at the 2019 Dr Sander Invitational. Shea just ran 9:02.02 at BU.
It would be easier if semi would just post facts rather than opinions and insults. If asked about a time or accomplishment, easy to respond with it. You sort of did it too. Easier to just list the time rather than an insult first.
Surprisingly, Sarak DiSanza still has the u20 5000 record in 15:20.57 at BU from her freshman year at Wisconsin.
Wiley's 4:26 in 6/22 was only at 1600m. Obviously the conversion is very good, but technically the Tuohy 4:33 remains the high school mile record.
With Engelhardt, Shea, Gorriaran, David & Riggs now all sub 4:40, this record is due to fall this spring.
But her 1600m time easily converts to 4:28 for a mile. It wouldn’t take 7 seconds even if she walked the entire extra 9 meters and there’s nothing technical about it.
People are talking about pacers and/or competition but Touhy immediately gapped the field in her 4:33.
they dont say the fact that covid started during katelyn tuohy's HS senior indoor season
i think she only ran 2 races in her senior indoor track season and that was it... everything was shut down and she went to college ... fixed her knee before starting college training
the rest is history
Yes the trolls have moved thru 'regressed in high school' to 'not enough college improvement' to 'too much college improvement.'
Even though she was hurt as a senior, she still completed both indoor and outdoor track seasons. Highlights were 4:36 anchor of dmr at Penn and indoor and outdoor 1500m state titles. She again won the NY Gatorade t&f award, her third to go along with 3 xc awards. (and 5 national Gatorade awards.)

I am quite sure the Penn Relays and outdoor track seasons were cancelled in 2020. The 4:36 DMR anchor was in 2019 and she did win the NY Indoor 1500 in March 2020, so she certainly ran more than 2 races that indoor season.
I think we will only see 4:09 and 15:12 outdoors because I believe she will pick up niggling injuries. She needs to move to a pro group where all aspects of her training, nutrition, and recovery can be addressed without the stress of classes which sap her potential since she is a classic overachiever in the classroom. I suggest ON.
tuohy still owns the mile, 3200, i5000, and i3000m national high school records + American U20 3000m record
natalie cook failed to break the 3200m on her attempt
ellie shea failed to break the i3000m on her attemptS
Hey, LiarHaze is still at it! You know, that guy who follows running so closely that he had never heard of Mary Decker.
Tuohy only set ONE high school record, the 5000, and it has already been beaten twice. Cain, Ephraimson, and Rainsberger all ran faster before Tuohy ever entered high school. Hutchins and Cook both smoked her 5000 record. She currently holds nothing. Entire high school career already wiped away and forgotten.

Well there is. Wiley only holds the record for 1600m. (she walked off track 9m short of the mile) Touhy holds record for 1 mile. T&F News publishes a nice list of conversions for comparison, but that list isn't officially recognized by anyone.
Cain and Efraimson have also run faster, but their times were also excluded due pro race, illegal track, conversion blah, blah. The record Tuohy broke was Polly Ann Plumer's 4:35.24 from 1982.
In a bit of irony Touhy was not going for any record, her pr was 4:40 and it was 90 degrees with steam coming off the all weather track. She was, however, completely fresh and wanted to win. The unexpected record at the national meet led to replays on Sports Center, the Gatorade national track award (her only one in track), and the Gatorade all sports award and Sports Illustrated cover. Despite all of her many wins, that particular unlikely 4 minutes and 33 seconds was actually the most important moment in creating her legend.
The lesson for a hser is to run 1 mile and 2 miles with en route times at 1500 and 1600, and 3000/3200. Then bases are covered for records.
