While ChatGPT can be considered intelligent in the context of its specific functions, it is not intelligent in the same way that a human being is.
I agree it’s not the same as a human. It’s certainly much better than GPT-3 and can do some remarkable bits of reasoning (see the maze example above). The line is getting blurry….
I’ll add that human intelligence involves a complex array of cognitive abilities such as perception, learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making, which are the result of the interaction between the human brain and the external environment. Human intelligence is characterized by qualities such as creativity, emotional intelligence, intuition, and social awareness, which are not currently replicated in artificial intelligence systems like ChatGPT, even -4.
Human intelligence is also inherently flexible and adaptable, allowing us to learn and grow throughout our lives. In contrast, artificial intelligence models like ChatGPT require training data to function, and their abilities are limited to the parameters set by their programming.
