I love my Endorphin Pros for longer race distances (marathon, 1/2 marathon) but wondering if a different shoe would be better for 5K/10K distances? What are your favorite 5K racing shoes?

I feel like I commonly see Takumi Sen mentioned a lot as that new age lower stack racer. StreakFly doesn't seem to have been as potent as people imagined. I do actually prefer the StreakFly for the lightness and low to the ground feel. The Zoom-X is the money-maker for me with or without a plate. I like that traditional flat feel and would be interested to try the new NB Pacer which most are saying is too low or kinda of harsh, but compared to flats of old is still quite plush.
That being said I feel like I see mostly Vaporflys and Endorphin Pros on the start line for anything and everything.
Thanks for your input. I haven't tried any of those shoes other than the Vaporfly. but do love trying out new ones. Have you heard anything about the Puma Deviate Elite? I tried the Deviate and really liked it.
Haven't been able to find and elite but have run in 2 of the other "Nitro" shoes and I actually really enjoy that midsole for daily training and faster stuff. I think it might be a fantastic racer for my taste if I could snag one.
Yeah their shoes really have a nice feel to them! I work in a running store and we are just now carrying Puma so we got to try them out.
Yes I sure.
Hey! I have a couple shoes and I vouch for the Takumi Sen 8! It’s very fast on the track and when you push the pace, it rewards you. The next % 2 is a solid racing shoe but it wears out fast. I recently picked up the Metaspeed sky + & it’s very snappy/fast.
The Takumi Sen 8 is nice because it has a lower stack height but the energy return is superior. The Adios Pro 3, the marathon version is plenty fast too.
New Balance Pacer (Emily Sisson shoe)
I like the takumi sen 8 quite a bit. Haven't raced in it yet, but I've definitely felt comfortable a few seconds faster than normal on repeats in my track workouts. That said, I'm still not sure that it's a *better* choice than the vaporfly for a 5k. Despite the lower stack height, they still weigh about the same.
