She should commit to Colorado again and enter NCAA D1 instead of running times slower than a high schooler at NAIA nationals.
She should commit to Colorado again and enter NCAA D1 instead of running times slower than a high schooler at NAIA nationals.
I’ve peripherally followed the drama and am aware of the allegations against the Johnsons and all of that but can anyone give me the Cliff Notes version of why she change ld her commitment to Colorado? TIA
Let's not do this on yet another thread.
We are watching a trainwreck of corruption, abuse and doping all wrapped up in a pretty NAIA bow.
it's disgusting.
They've been coaching her throughout high school.
There are tons of allegations of abuse and doping.
Put two and two together.
She us healthy and happy and on track to be the biggest star ever
She us healthy and happy and on track to be the biggest star ever
how does it feel to be defending doping, sexual abuse, and coaching misconduct, among various other crimes?
The answer is obvious and discussed at length here:
Wiley's been tested. Tuohy hasn't.
I didn't see it there.

If reading is hard, let me make it clear for you:
In a post on the Indiana Runner message board, Wiley said the decision was hers and that should be enough.
“Finishing 5th at U20 Worlds was an unbelievable experience. I didn’t even run my best in the finals but still ran fast enough to contend for the NCAA national title as a high schooler,” her post said. “Why would I want to leave a coach and support network that helped guide me to a national record and a top 5 World finish?“As many of you know I accomplished that working with Lauren Johnson, who has always been a family friend and great mentor of mine. When I got back from worlds I told Lauren I wanted to continue working with her
Lauren has been removed from her position due to a drug and sex scandal that Wiley was involved in and has spoken out against the victims in, and in doing so acknowledged she was shown sexual texts between the former coach and athletes on the team.
When did the NCAA stop testing people who win its championships?
Don't sleep on the seductive charms of an NAIA institution! Outsiders find it difficult to put their finger on what goes through a recruit's mind. It might seem cultish, perhaps even illicit, but some small schools can really groom talented youngsters during their time as student-athletes. Recruiting, and subsequently coaching, is a sort of courtship that is equal parts allure, persuasion, and firm control of an always evolving situation. The charismatic collegiate coach can be seen as a mentor, father figure, and svengali. A coach must find a way to make you forget all other suitors, massage your sub-conscious desires, and surrender to their methods. Absolute trust is a strong drug. It makes you feel like a champion, satisfies your deepest needs, and is as exciting as traveling to new places to pick up a puppy. If you have not been touched by the recruiting process or called to serve a higher power with your athletic abilities, it is impossible to know its irresistible and primal lure.
i dont think colorado would accept her or any teams after what wiley did, the ncaa athletes already ignores her .. doesnt even comment on her posts anymore and doesnt shake her hands

Tuohy would chew her up and spit her out.
Honest question, do you honestly think that Wiley could have done what she did today at the D1 level?
Next question, do you honestly think that Tuohy could have done what Wiley did today if she were at the NAIA level?
NAIA is a joke. Inferior academics and athletics.
