Was Nathan Moore injured this past season? When he was a hs senior he looked like he had huge potential in college as a cross country runner. He beat Nathan Mountain for the state championship in pretty convincing fashion. Mountain is a favorite to win the NCAA D1 championship in the steeplechase. I had heard he was transferring from Walsh but no idea if that is true or not.
Nathan Moore is transferring to Liberty. His only injury this year was a broken heart.
Liberty?
Liberty has had a rich history and have had some distance success with Josh McDougal, Sam Chelanga, Azaria Kirwa and others. They have also made the NCAA championships multiple times in XC and have a pretty solid team now.
I just couldn't do it, though. Mandatory chapel, strict curfews, no alcohol, and all of that. Socially it's nothing like most schools Walsh included. It's like Malone on steroids from the religious aspect. If that is for Moore, good luck to him. He will need to run a lot better than he has been to make an impact there.
I heard Hillsdale has recruited a ton of good Michigan kids from the forests up north. I've heard through the coaching network of commitments from three sub 4:15 milers, two sub 9:00 two-milers, and one guy under 15:10 (though it's in cross, take that with a grain of salt). Coach Rich knows how to develop talent, and it'll be interesting to see the impact that these kids make in their first year. It looks like Rich is developing a roster that'll DESTROY the likes of GV and CO Mines in the next few years. Hillsdale is usually known to race its true freshmen, so expect to see them on the course in a few months.
